Does your TV accept component video input (It’s a set of three video connectors, a red, blue, and green.) If so, then get the high-def XBox cable (about $20) and use that.
If the receiver can accept and output in component video, then use it, if it cannot, go directly to the TV.
Oh, and yes, plug the audio into the receiver, so that it can go to the nice stereo system you say you have in the other thread.
And I jsut noticed you said the receiver had monitor output. Do you mean a DVI cable? One large, thick, cable that ends in a rectangular plastic connector with many small pins in it? If so, then go to the receiver, and use that to the TV.
My TV does have one more set of component inputs (I’m using one for my DVD player). I’ll consider spending the $ on a xbox cable upgrade, but I’m still smarting from the price of the Monster home theater kit I decided to buy over the weekend. For now, I’ll try the audio-to-receiver and video-to-TV option.
