Was it just me or did anyone else notice that when the Surviviors were reunited with their loved ones it looked like the hugging and kissing shots were edited or cut when it came to Scout with her partner and Ami with hers? I mean they showed Chris kissing his girlfriend and the others kissing their parents and friends, but we never saw that of the lesbians. You know that Scout layed a big ole kiss on her partner for sure, so why didn’t we get to see that?
I was impressed with Twila for the first time this season. She engineered a power play at just the right moment. I didn’t think she had it in her.
This was easily the best episode all season and may have rescued Suvivor from terminal boredom until the finale.
The look on Chad and Sarge’s face when they realized what happened was priceless.
What do you bet there were a couple million clueless Americans sitting staring at their TVs in slackjawed amazement when Ami’s girlfriend came out?
I know I was sitting next to two of them… hee hee…
And then Amy sitting up on the podium cheering her girl on… “I LUUUUUURRVE YOU!”
It’s not just you; I noticed it to. My guess is that CBS feels their audience isn’t ready for that yet (ie, they didn’t want to piss off any potential viewers).
Word. A lot of people on the TWOP messageboard are criticising CBS pretty hard for that, but I think they’re asking a lot of the network. It’s risky enough just openly calling the two women a “life partner” and a “girlfriend.” They could have covered that up and called them roommates or something if they wanted to.
Gee, I hope none of them were in the closet or anything.

Yes. Google Ami Cusack if interested.

It was nice, but you never know what they airbrushed.
The problem is, that would create a 3-3 tie. She’s 4th in any pecking order, so she might as well avoid the colored rock by sticking with the Scout alliance. I think Eliza has a chance to go to the final two. She has been fairly competetive in most challenges. ESPECIALLY the mental challenges. She could run off a string of IC wins and go to the final two. I think the only person she could beat would be Ami though…
I wonder at what point do Burnett and Propst realize that they got a stinker?
A. It’s on in the “family hour.”
B. For some reason, it is the #1 show among children under ten (it competes with Fear Factor for that distinction.)
C. Janet Jackson’s titty.
D. We do not live in the most tolerant of times.
Correction: she’s odd man out in either alliance…
My 8-year-old son is a huge fan. He watched for the first time with Pearl Islands and was enchanted with Rupert. He then watched All-Stars (but of course had no idea who anyone was but Rupert), and is watching again this time around. He loves the challenges, but is a little bored by too much scheming.
I don’t know if he understood “Life Partner” under Scout’s girlfriend’s name, but he didn’t ask what it meant. If he had asked, I certainly would have explained.
I think he thought Ami’s “Girlfriend” was just a friend who was a girl.
Damn. All the good ones are always married, gay, or on a sheep farm some where.
I haven’t watched this season since episode 3 or so. How is Eliza still around? Is she winning immunity challenges like its her job or what?
For those of you saying that Eliza is number 4 in both pecking orders, I would think that, knowing that she is not at all liked by anyone left in the game including jury members, a smart Survivor contestant would do everything in his or her power to keep her in the game so that, assuming they win final immunity, they should have an easy F2.
Of course that assumes that these contestants are smart. Despite Twila’s turnaround, I’m still waiting for any evidence of that from this shower.
I hate when Survivor contestants talk about being scared of having their “fate decided by a rock.” I wish to hell Mark Burnett would repair the massive damage he’s done to the game and just reassure the next batch of castaways that in the event of a tie, something other than a colored rock drawing will be used to determine elimination. So many people play it safe because they’re too scared of getting Paschaled. At Survivor: All Stars, for example, Rupert wanted Jenna to vote for Amber and take their chances with a tie, but she voted against him because she was afraid she’d be eliminated if she drew the purple rock. Aside from the injustice of eliminating a man who never had a single vote cast against him, that stupid rock idea has killed the risk taking element of the game and forced people to stick with alliances that they know they’re not solid with just to avoid elimination.
Back to the episode, it was about time this season turned into an actual game of Survivor and not the “girls against guys” crap it’s been all season long. Kudos to Twila for showing some tactical ability, especially at such a crucial time in the game. Now if only Ami gets voted off next week, I’ll be a very happy bear.
Great, the one I miss has to be the interesting one.
I thought about setting the VCR to record, but then I thought about how boring the rest of the season had been.
Unless, of course, the jury members punted in favor of Eliza get angry, and Eliza gets the spite vote.
I hate the spite vote, but you must recognize the impact. It is the very rare Survivor jury member who will admit they were duped and vote for the power player who burned them.
I was really disappointed in Lex in All-Stars. Even though he was burned by Rob, I thought he would vote for the better player.
Ah, yes. The “Christy Effect.” Who saw THAT coming?
