Is there already a Survivor thread that I can not find for this week?
I heard Merge on the radio this morning on my way to work.
Is there already a Survivor thread that I can not find for this week?
I heard Merge on the radio this morning on my way to work.
I’ve been looking for one, too, but never saw one. I was about to start one, but then saw yours.
This really must be a boring Survivor edition if it gets to be 6:30-something before anyone starts a thread!
Okay, according to my digital TV guide, it’s called “Now The Battle Really Begins” and all I’m getting is “Another castaway is voted off.”
:smack: Yeah, that’s helpful.
I also heard merge on a preview the other night.
If Chastain86 were here, he’d have some juicy spoilers that I wouldn’t be reading, but there’s no sign of him yet.
I can’t even speculate on who might go after a merge.
Eliza, maybe, just for the annoyance factor?
Ami?
Well, 6:30 is still 45 minutes away, and the thread has been started.
Yeah, about that.
I’ve opted to forgo any future spoilers in light of comments made in last week’s thread. No point in continuing a trend that’s not desired.
So, ah, yeah.
But I’m still watching.
I have never been so pissed I yelled at the tv screen before tonight.
Bye-bye, guys! The men are gone.
Y’know, lesbians have really been few and far between on Survivor. You’d think it would be possible for Burnett to cast one whose patron saint wasn’t Hippolyte, Queen of the Man-Hating Amazons…
Boy, I bet Lea is sweating buckets: the first time he fails to score individual immunity he is soooo out of there.
Well, as I was watching the immunity challenge, I realized that I was in the unusual but pleasant position of actually liking and rooting half of the people, instead of hating them all and rooting for the one I hated least. Here’s where I stand on each character.
Formerly rooting for
Rory. I can’t stand his personality. I think he’s a jerk. But I had to admire his game play and his strength in the challenges. And his confessionals were a hoot. As of this episode, I found myself grudgingly hoping he stuck around. A tip of the Tilley hat to ya, Teflon Rory. I’ll miss you.
Rooting For:
Twila. My #1 pick. She rocks. Even without any pants on. (and I think she has a crush on Sarge. Hee hee.)
Sarge. I loved Sarge from day 1. What can I say? I like bossy cranky guys that can actually back it up with some real skills.
Chad. What’s not to like? And for anybody who was complaining about the lack of “eye candy”–did you check him out as he was pulling himself back up onto the balance beam? Zowie!
Chris. Just playing a solid game and not pissing me off.
Mixed Feelings or Neutral
Leann. Who?
Scout. I dislike her, but I wouldn’t mind seeing her win anyway, being an older female and all.
Julie. Okay, the whole tanning thing was very annoying, as was the flirting thing. But overall, she doesn’t bug me too much. She is good in the challenges and seems easy to get along with. Yawn.
Rooting Against
Eliza. You’re just lame.
Ami. Begone, evil witch!
So, how are the rest of you feeling about the remaining 9?
Hm. I didn’t pick up on Scout being a man-hater.
Spoiler for those who taped/Tivoed the show for later viewing:
Sarge had to have known that he was in a good position to not be voted out, and that Rory was vulnerable. I would have liked to have seen him give the Immunity Necklace to Rory, in order to make the women scramble without being able to confer amongst themselves. I think it would have been a good strategy, and would have been interesting to watch.
Wow! Not too many people watching any more (or at least not commenting).
Twila made a stupid move switching over to the women. Ami is clearly in charge of that troop, and IIRC, she and Twila didn’t get along the first time 'round. She would have been much better of sticking with Sarge. I think the two of them have a great chemistry that would have played well for both of them as the game winds down.
Ami…I really, really don’t like her and would like to see her off. “I bring a good attitude,” she says. Well, you bring attitude, that’s for certain, but how good it is I think is open to interpretation. And as far as saying that it got her this far in life…you make coffee for a living, you repugnant beast!! (Not that there’s anything wrong with making coffee for a living, but I can’t imagine the rest of her life has stormed too far past a similar level of accomplishment.)
Leann…I’ll second Green Bean’s remark…who?
Eliza…waste of skin
Scout…She was really starting to tick me off the last couple of weeks with the idea of the impenetrable female alliance. I mean, can you not see past gender? It seems like it’s the only thing ultimately important to her in making decisions.
Rory…has annoyed me since Day 1, and I’m glad to see him go.
other guys…I’m neither impressed nor offended. So indifferent, I suppose, that I can’t even mention you by name.
Julie…hot, but not especially deserving. but hot.
I think that’s all of them. I guess the only two I’d be rooting for are Twila and Sarge, though Twila’s bonehead maneuver of switching alliances puts her below Sarge, in my books.
There are two lesbians this season. She-Woman Man-Haters Club president Ami is the other one.
What a snoozefest.
At least according to next weeks previews it should be a laugh when Eliza won’t let anyone eat her pet pig.
I was paying too much attention to Ami’s snotty attitude to pick up on that.
This is a snoozer…anyway the men are toast.
Oh, and can I just note that Scout has SUCH a crush on Twila?
Didn’t she say something like “I’m so happy, I have feelings in parts of my body I can’t mention.”?
lol hyup. I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that. Lesbian or not that was an odd comment to make about another survivor. I thought it was more like "I have feelings for her in places I can’t mention. Something like that, who knows. Either way, eek.
And do we know that Ami plays for the same team from the show, or external sources? I don’t remember seeing anything that alluded to that.
And while I’m at it - adios Rory. This was a very satisfying week for Burnett reality, as two of my most loathed contestants got nailed (I won’t mention the Apprentice bootee just in case). I was a little disappointed at Rory’s speech though, I thought it would be more pissy. I was half hoping after the vote was read Ami was going to get up and go “YEAH! WOOO!!! HOW’D YOU LIKE THAT!! YEEEAAAHHH!” At least then he’d have come classlessness to bitch about.
I don’t believe it’s ever been mentioned onscreen, but it’s mentioned several places at the official website, like in Ami’s biography. Check out the last paragraph.
Oh, and that “model” slashed with the barista in her job description? She posed for Playboy.
Man, I can’t even bring myself to care that I had Rory in the pool. I’ve still got Twila, Leann and Chad, so I’m doing pretty well. But Og, these people are more boring than a sack of rocks. sigh
I’ve been watching, but not commenting as most people here say what I was going to say before I could say it (and usually they say it better!).
I have mixed feelings about what’s going on now. I am not sorry to see Rory go - I didn’t like him. But I did gain a lot of respect for his gameplay over the last two episodes or so.
I agree with what some are saying about the silly strategies ( Twila sticking with the women instead of the men, for example) but at the same time, as a viewer, I love it - for the first time in a while, something different is happening. The women’s alliance actually held together and there’s a chance they’ll boot off all the men and have an all-women Survivor. I like Sarge and Chad a lot (they’re in my top three), but this would be cool just because it’s a bit different. Plus, it could make for interesting TV down the road when the women start turning on each other. So I’m kinda rooting for them to keep booting off the guys -I mean, did you see the looks on their faces last night? Not one single guy thought that would happen. Priceless.
I do think Ami needs to be careful. Too many people know she’s the one in charge and that could be lethal for her. And no, I don’t like her either.
