Survivor 4 November 04

Rocks can be quite interesting, actually.

I hate to see all the men go bye bye, but I think it will be interesting to watch the women’s alliance turn into the biggest catfight we’ve ever seen once the men are gone.

And did anyone else get the impression that Ami didn’t care if the water went in the bucket as long as she got to splash Rory in the face?

I’m glad Rory is gone. I no longer have to listen to the whining about how much he hates the women, and how he does all the work. Waah wah wah.

Wow, this was actually the first episode this season that I’ve enjoyed, all the way through. Decent challenges, especially the reward one. And yeah, I was loving Scout’s “feelings in places she can’t mention” for Twila.

Me too. And I can’t help but wonder if Julie and Twilah will switch teams again. They really are setting pretty right now.

  • My wife and I both noticed that it seems like Ami has gotten heavier as the show has gone on. I have never seen such a thing in Survivor history. Usually by this point, everyone is starting to look unhealthy. Maybe it is because we don’t like her (a few weeks ago, I was “Chasing Ami”, now she is on my shit list!)

*Twila probably made the right move. She KNOWS, without hesitation, that Ami the Man Hater will vote straight gender until the men are gone. Simple math says that puts her in the final six guaranteed. With Sarge’s alliance (and Julie’s careful playing of Twila a few weeks back), Twila had no such guarantee. Plus, Twila probably thinks she has a good shot at beating the women in challenges…

  • The “leg up” moment was hilarious. It was not spiteful at all, and Chad handled it well. He really is inspiring. Too bad he is toast.

I’m with you on that. She turned into a complete witch right after the tribal switch that brought Rory and Bubba into their tribe.

Playboy…check.
Fake boobs…check.
She-woman man-hater lesbian club president…cognitive dissonance is setting in…

Hey, lesbians are allowed to be shallow bubbleheads, too!

I’m not convinced that Twila and Julie have necessarily allied with the women for good. Twila was trying for a good part of the episode to convince Sarge to vote off Rory. The guys wouldn’t do it, so she got her women to do it for her.

It wouldn’t hurt them to go back to their former male tribemates after tribal council and tell them they are still on their side…and boot Ami this coming week. Get it down to four women, three men…and boot off another guy, then the remaining two women. You have a final four of Twila, Julie, and the two guys of their choosing.

The only downside is if they play up the fact that they are swing votes…because the remaining players will boot them out on their butts. Witness Dolly, the self-proclaimed swing vote from Week 2. Or back in the original gender-split season, Survivor: Amazon, where Christie (the deaf contestant) was booted by all the players when she kept telling both “sides” she didn’t know who she was going to vote for, and how her swing vote held all the power.

If Twila and Julie play their cards right, and subtly…praying on the survival instincts of the tribe in the minority, they can go quite a ways.
