Survivor 11/29

Any reaction to the outcome of tonight’s episode? Other than maybe :smack:

I don’t know what it is, but there are usually players that I hate, players that I love and players that are just meh to me. However, with Courtney, she’s the first player I have both loved and hated at the same time. Sometimes she annoys me, sometimes she’s seems really funny and cool. But I just have one feeling for Peih Gee: hate. And one for Amanda: Lust.

I concur, except for the fact that I’ve never had anything but dislike for dem dry bones. I was sorry to see James go, I kept muttering, “play it play it play it play it…”. He’s got to be the only contestant, now or ever, to leave while still in possession of two (count em) immunity idols.

And, by the way, thanks for starting the thread .

Ditto on Amanda. Except she someone hit her with a stupid stick right before she had her chat with Peegee, who could have spilled the beans in a heartbeat, and immediately did to Eric. I’m amazed James didn’t twig to what was going on around him.

Awesome episode. Too bad James didn’t do the HII, that would’ve been cooler. Then again, they would have done the silly firestarter thing, I think. (Why did Todd think that the idol forces 2nd place out? Is that still true? Has it ever been true?)

Man, James, could you cover up the high-beams, please? They’re squicking me out.

I believe the rules are that if the idol is played, all the votes for that person are discarded, so whoever is left with the highest number of votes (the one who would have been 2nd had the idol not been played) gets voted out.

I spent that whole Tribal Council going "play it, play it, play it… :smack: " He had two! He could have spared one. Argh!

Denise is the coolest kung fu fighting lunch-lady with a mullet I’ve ever seen. I’m hoping she can somehow make it to the end.

I am not sure what to think about Courtney. I hated her on the first episode, haaaaaated. But then she somehow became very amusing and snarky and not as annoying and now she is actually fun to listen to.

What is with the blurring of Amanda’s shorts though? Something written on them that can’t be shown on TV?

Yeah, I’ve heard that, too. But its never happened, so who the heck knows anymore? And I was hoping to find out tonight! Bah.

Yeah, nice kata she did there. I like how one of the kids, a girl, looked absolutely confused at what Denise was doing, like “what the hell?”.

That question comes up every week. My vote is that there’s a brand name on them (must be a big logo, jeez). Others think she’s torn her shorts and naughty bits (well, buttock parts) are hanging out. My second guess is that this season is being censored more because it was filmed in China and someone there had some sort of say-so about blurry parts. Not that this isn’t wild speculation or anything.

It may have never happened, but didn’t Jeff outline the rules for the hidden immunity idol when Jamie brought out the fake one? I thought he said something along the lines of “If a hidden immunity idol is played, all votes for that person are discarded and the person with the next highest number of votes will be eliminated.”

I don’t know but it’s making me mad. Personally, I think it’s some prude editor that doesn’t want us to see her smokin’ hot heinie.

They showed Amanda’s butt without blurring on the recap. I didn’t see any logos or holes. I think they just ride too high some times and they feel the need to be prudes.

Speaking of Amanda, she is looking hotter every day. Not getting smarter, though. She risked a lot telling PG. I think she just liked the thrill of looking powerful and in command. “Trust me, it is in your best interest to not do anything”. What?

James, you are so darned stupid. You knew something was going on, you got suspicious enough to take the HIIs to TC. Everybody was looking and talking weasely at TC, why didn’t you just play the stupid thing? Some souvenir to take home with you, man.

Denise rocks! Win that million, baby. I am so glad PG took her to this reward (which was the coolest reward so far). Her quietness is concealing her smarts. Maybe it is just horse sense, but it is still more than some other people have shown.

“No talking in the cave”. Courtney really cracks me up sometimes. Count me among the ones who started hating her guts (well, bones and skin, really) and now are her fans.

Erick is starting to look like final three material.

It was good finally to see people actually get together and carry out the smart plan of getting rid of a strong person before the chance slips away. There’ve been a couple of good plans by this bunch this season, though they didn’t necessarily pan out. Like the thrown immunity challenge, for example. But this one finally worked.

As for Eric (and Denise, really), I’ve suspected for a long time that he’s bound to go a long way because the producers took a long time until finally giving him airtime for his confessionals. Same same for Denise. But Amanda? Still practically nothing, so maybe she’ll win the whole thing.

(I think Courtney is a red herring. She got a lot of play early on.)

Amanda, saddly is now dead to me. My heart cannot belong to anyone so dumb as to not know the capital of China.

To the rest of her suitors I say, “She’s all yours.”

One down…

She may hot know the capital of China, but she just pulled off the greatest strategic move in the history of Survivor. Remember, this isn’t Jeopardy. Amanda’s been saying all along that she wasn’t just going along for the ride, and she finally proved it. She hasn’t won a challenge or stood out in any way, but here it is with six players left and she is the most popular of them all and hasn’t had a single vote cast against her (I think). There is no other player that would eat her head to head in a final vote.

If she pulls off another coup as hinted next week and goes on to win this, she will go down as one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

Speaking of the “greatest”, as far as hardest workers go, James makes Bobby John look like a lazy ass. Nine days to go - who is going to make the fire and catch fish the rest of the way?

…too many responses… can not pick…

No real argument. It was a well timed, brilliant move. It probably has Todd shaking in his knickers, too. But she’s now proved so strategic I’d be worried she would be plotting to take all my money. That’s right: both dollars.

Well timed, I’ll give you that. But it was the same plan Todd hatched two weeks ago: blind-siding James.

Well, I’ll miss James. He was fun to watch and I enjoyed his commentary, as arrogant and weirdly biblical as it was.

I’m growing very weary of Todd’s smirky face. On the other hand, go Denise. I didn’t expect her to make it this far at the beginning of the season, and to see her at the Reward was really nice (particularly after that bailing out the boat challenge where neither team picked her).

Nonsense. It would depend on who was with her, and who she’s going to screw with in the next 4 TCs. If she were up before the Jury with Courtney and Peegee, she’d probably win. But the Lunch Lady would probably win if those two were the alternative. Also, remember, the jury doesn’t know everything we know about the other players, so the vote is not about who’s the most popular on CBS’ web site.

True, but for a completely stupid reason, Todd didn’t follow through with it. I don’t think it took a genius to come up with the plan, but you have to convince others and see it through. Todd really blew it on that one, and Amanda took advantage…good for her.

You don’t like Amanda much, do ya?

I’d say she’s in the best position of the remaining players. Courtney, Denise, and Peigh-Gee are nonentities; the only way any of them has a chance is if all three of them make the final three. I think Todd has been sufficiently frantic to portray himself as a “schemer” to make himself an unattractive candidate for a vote - and a likely candidate for an imminent vote-off. Erik isn’t going to make the Final 3; he’s just not positioned to do so. Smart odds favor Amanda right now, because she has: (1) a verifiable, definitive, “gameplay” moment to which she can point during the final TC; (2) a clear path to the final TC; and (3) no enemies.

I was going to post that it HAD happened (Alex and Eduardo in whichever one that was), but that was the fake-out (where they told Dreamz ( ) that they were voting Alex so Mookie would give him the turtle, then they all voted for Eduardo), so you’re right, they never actually HAVE had a relevant HII play yet.

I hate it that James is out. I was really rooting for him. I think the “plan” looks good now because it worked. If he plays one of the HIIs, Todd’s out and James switches and it’s 3 on 3. The risk of losing the numbers would have been far too great.

Now I hope Denise wins. I was meh about her before, but her mad kung fu skillz have made me a fan. Plus she’s humble and a good worker. Eric still sits on meh for me. Jaime getting booted was the best thing that happened to him. I really pretty much hate everybody else. Though I do reserve a special burning core of the sun hatred for P.G. Rude, smug, and all around jackass.
