I know it’s been asked before, but why on earth does Jeff keep referring to Jonathan as “Penner” during challenges? I know it’s his last name, but it’s not what anyone else calls him, there’s no other Jonathan (or even John now that Fairplay’s gone, and Jeff called him “Fairplay” anyway) in the game, and it confuses me (and I’d guess a lot of other people) every time he does it. If we saw even one scene where Jonathan called him “Probst”, I’d get it as some kind of in-joke, but there’s not even that.

From what I understand, there’s a Survivor circuit where cast members and Probst go on tour, meetings fans, doing Q&As, autograph sessions, etc. With so many cast members named “John” “Mike” “James” and other common names, I’d imagine Jeff uses some method to distinguish them when cast members from multiple seasons are in one place, like nicknames, initals, and last names.

Hence, Penner.

I completely agree. He has the smarminess of Hawkeye from M.A.S.H., but not the sense of humor.

I thought it was smart of Tracy to use Joel’s ego to get rid of Mike. Instead of telling him they needed to vote off Mike, she asked why Joel was letting him run the game. She manipulated him right into what she wanted.

I watch them, but I don’t necessarily buy into them. I take them as moments lifted from a context that is itself already contrived.

I used to be a spoiler ho, going over them like a Zapruder film, but I’ve mellowed as the series’ aged.

The Fans have to be the dumbest group of Survivors ever. OK, I can see fooling Joel because he obviously has a big ego and what’s her name (the older woman who’s not Kathy) stroked it in just the right way, but why did Erik go along with this plan?

And how does what’s her name (the older woman who’s not Kathy) not see that hitching her wagon to Chet’s star is going to get her no where?

These Fans are all just like Rob C. They think they’ve got all the angles figured out so they overthink everything and then get snuffed well before their time.

The whole idea of voting out dudes on your team *becuase they are good at challanges is just staggeringly unbeleivable.

Nothing is worse than having your team 2 dudes down at the merge, then being Pagonged out.

Yeah, sure Yau is a dude you dont want to go up against in the Final Four, but you’re a looooong way away from that at this point. And voting out the big strong dude just to keep in the Wimpy Mcwhinerson? :rolleyes:
