What I dread is that DAN sues Survivor and through some gross miscarriage of justice walks away with a multi-million judgment.
Yes, but how does this affect Dean’s fake legacy advantage? it could only be played until Final 6, but now there’s only 5 left!
Won’t happen, a lot of his inappropriate actions are on film as are the women telling him to back off.
ETA: @ SBS
Unfortunately the two women who lied about it undercuts that message.
I heard that as they were traveling by boat back to their camp and either when the contestants were loading or unloading, that Dan grabbed the leg of one of the producers. He claims that he lost his balance and did so to steady himself. This was the off-screen incident, that led to his ejection from the show. The producers say that Dan had been warned and there was zero tolerance.
I guess “zero tolerance” means something different when it involves production staff rather than fellow contestants.
This is going to have chilling effects on the game moving forward. I doubt we will see any more Rob/Ambah romances cause they will be warned about not touching anyone.
That seems like a really small effect. Certainly worth not forcing women to allow guys to grope them unchecked.
How fucking hard is it to understand that the problem is **unwanted **touching?
I am quite saddened that Elaine was voted off. I had hoped that she would win. That money, literally, would have significantly changed her life, and those of her wife and stepkids.
For the other four, it would have given them a comfort level, but when they go back to the “real world”, they still have a certain level of lifestyle that would be maintained.
Elaine’s entire world would have been significantly improved. Which, of course, is why she was probably voted out.
But dang, having her game get shot down because Dean flipped a coin is just… saddening.
The vote was 5-2, so even if Dean had lost his vote, she’d still be gone.
I would expect there will likely be at least one lawsuit and maybe more because Dan worked as a lawyer before he became one of the owners in his talent management company.
If you Google him there is quite a bit of interesting info and some good pictures you may enjoy. But you have to get past all the articles that deal with Survivor. You need to search for info about Dan before he appeared on Survivor.
How do they handle the jury situation? Are they going back to someone that didn’t make the jury and putting them on it? To make the numbers work…
They don’t really need any specific numbers on the jury since it’s s final three, and we know how the tiebreaker works.
I would guess that we will not find out until Prosbt announces it. This show has not proven itself to be very free with information like that - especially since Dan was removed.
I will be very interested to see what the consequence will be of taping the reunion instead of broadcasting it live like it is normally done.
Seems to me that was a very poor decision. If the producers think that decision will somehow suppress the criticism of Dan’s ejection, I expect they will be proven wrong. I would have thought they’d be smarter than this. In general when TPTB attempt to suppress other peoples’ freedom of expression, it tends to blow up in their faces. I would expect the reaction to Dan’s ejection will be significantly larger and louder because of the decision to tape the reunion. But I’m often wrong when it comes to making these kinds of predictions. So, who knows?
Reddit’s speculating that there could be pending legal issues so they wouldn’t want to even talk about it at the reunion.
I suggest you may find it interesting to read what Jeff Varner has been saying. He seems to think that many of the other contestants were planning to speak up on the live reunion and object to the producers for removing Dan. I don’t understand exactly what his complaints were. But, he did call the decision “horseshit” and he seems to be very upset about things. He seems to think he acted in a very heroic manner for outing Zak during his season. I honestly just don’t get that.
I don’t understand exactly what he is complaining about with respect to Dan. However, I think his remarks would be illuminating - if only I understood his objections. I do not understand just what he is saying. But I expect there will continue to be some reaction to this decision. I look forward to the Finale and the Reunion. Both of these should prove to be interesting to fans of this show.
If I understand Varner correctly, he seems to be saying the decision to cancel the live reunion and to tape it instead was made because several of the contestants were planning to stage some kind of protest about the decision to remove Dan on the live show. I have no idea if there is any truth to that.
Eh, I think Varner’s got as much credibility to complain about Dan’s ejection as Louis CK would have to complain about Bill Cosby’s conviction.
And given the tweets coming out from the contestants themselves, falling all over themselves apologizing for how they treated Kellee, I strongly doubt Varner’s claim that they were planning a protest at the reunion to support Dan.
Yes, but Missy and Elizabeth muddied the waters with the false claims against Dan just for game play reasons. If they hadnt of done that, the case vs dan would have been clear.
So, do we believe Missy and Elizabeth, (both women), also?
