Survivor 4/9 "Mad Treasure Hunt"

(Allegedly). the players don’t know who wins until the reunion show. Would they not get suspicious if TPTB took them back out to location?

Not if they use their “challenge explanation doubles” instead.

I find it mildly interesting that Spencer’s hair is always perfectly spiked up, a hairstyle that requires a blow dryer for us mortals. Just me?

Spencer was a real champ in this episode, but I’m still hoping LJ wins. Not only is he the most likeable character, but he’s good at the physical challenges and just ran through that puzzle like it was nothing (maybe he had some help, but he was doing a good part of the work). None of the other players strike me as win-worthy. Woo is pretty good, too, but I don’t see him as the all-round player that LJ is.

But good on Spencer for wining the IC. I thought it would be Woo or one of the women, for sure. He’s one of the last players I would have picked to win it.

Kass is an ass.

Why not? Finding someone else’s clue is interesting enough, especially when it leads to a mad scramble, that I think they’d want it on camera even if it involved 2 people who got voted out the next two councils. It’s not like they don’t have time - many players have commented on how little they actually do gamewise - most of their time is sitting around camp. I’d bet producers are constantly pulling people away for confessionals and reenactments.

I would be very, very surprised if they restaged a scene to change the action of what actually happened. The legal implications of that would be staggering.

What would the legal implications be?

But “He went through the pockets of the pants” vs. “He picked up the pants and the clue fell out” only matter to the audience, who don’t affect the outcome of the game. Spencer and Woo know what happened, and are free to tell their story any way they choose to everyone else in the game. Woo performed two legal actions - picked up someone else’s clothes, and walked off with the clue. The exact details don’t affect the outcome of the game.

She may have been attractive in her early years. But how would you like to have to spend more than a few hours with her?

She is a very dumb kid and as a human being, she is kind of repulsive.

If she’s lucky, she’ll learn a few good life lessons and mature into a better person.

If she’s not lucky, she will likely develop some serious problems (like maybe addictions or other kinds of problems) and become a very unhappy lady.

BTW, Spencer was foolish for leaving that clue folded up in his pants. He should have either hid it in his underwear or torn it up into little pieces and thrown them into the nearest big body of water. I’m not sure if it’s an ocean or sea or lake.

I can’t agree that Kass is an ass.

She was pushed into a corner by the female cop and reacted in a very good strategic way. I think she is very bright and savvy and I hope she wins.

She wasn’t pushed into any corner. Kass just tantrumed because people weren’t fawning all over her, but instead were listing to Sarah. And Kass’ reaction (flipping) was not a good strategic move for her.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t like her. She’s clearly a good looking girl and I’m sure she’s got a decade or so before she has to worry about that not being the case. She’s only 21. Who knows how she will turn out after she leaves college.

I’m in mourning for two things after this episode.

  1. Morgan being voted off.

  2. Having to listen to her speak.

I disagree. I don’t think she’s a butterface but I think Jefra and Alexis are both much prettier and seem to have better personalities, and also strike me as better gameplayers(which admittedly says nothing about them as people).

Speaking of superficialities, I still don’t understand why so many women go crazy over LJ. A friend whom I usually watch it with practically starts drooling whenever he’s on but he looked to me like he was about 50 this episode.

I still like him though and think he’s got a great shot at winning.

There’s nothing to agree or disagree about. It’s just taste. There is no objective truth when it comes to taste.

Regarding LJ, how come you guys like him as a player? I don’t recall him being featured as much as other players, like Spencer.

Hetero male here and I think LJ is hot. Like a chill Don Draper. While we’re on the hot-or-not discussion, Alexis was insanely cute. Morgan had over-stuffed silicon tits. Nuff said.

C’mon, Kass, really? “I think it’s your karma for behaving that way to me”? You might be right… since he found the idol.

It would have been very risky, but Spencer giving the idol to Morgan wouldn’t necessarily have been the worst idea. Pagonging is likely to ensue now.

I saw no strategic advantage to Kass’s flip at all. It was a purely emotional, irrational move. I liked her at the outset of the game, but now she strikes me as one of those types who thinks it’s amusing to fuck people over. She’s probably a good lawyer, but I definitely wouldn’t want her as a friend.

Her smugness is baffling. She seems weirdly oblivious to the implications of being viewed as an unreliable, untrustworthy player. I thought it was particularly telling that Tony complained about her disturbing lack of affect.

When you think an NFL cheerleader is unattractive, there’s a good chance you’re holding an outlier preference though.
