does she forget that she threw a challenge about 6-8 days earlier?
I think if Jaime had gotten up and said “I found a hidden immunity idol and I’m playing it now” that’s exactly how it would have gone down.
Instead she said “I think I found a hidden immunity idol and if it is can I play it pretty please?”, so Jeff was merciful.
Nah. She’s just hoping HE forgot.
Good point. It’ll be interesting to see if the players pick up on that. Wasn’t someone surprised last season by anticipating a two-person finale?
Thanks again. It’s not really too difficult; just a little TiVo maneuvering (my TV and computer are in the same room).
The weird thing about this is that the conversation between Peih-Gee and James takes place right near the top of the show; I was wondering if I’d missed something somehow. Maybe it was the Costanza Maneuver: Pretend it never happened, and continue on as if nothing is wrong.
Cool thing about this season so far is the way James has come all the way back from the brink of elimination to having both Hidden Immunity Idols. Although I can just possibly see a chance Todd could organize a blindside vote to oust him, I don’t think that group would be able to hold it together long enough to make it work. And I tend to agree Amanda seems to be the silent but possibly dominant partner.
Okay, so I gave P.G. a little more credit in the smarts department than she deserved, but I gotta say, when she has her hair down during confessionals, umm, umm, cutie. I can’t wait to see her at the reunion show with some racy makeup on.
But she’s toast next week.
I forget who wrote it, but I was thinking the exact same thing: J.R. & Courtney would do well to ally together, possibly with P.G. & Erik, and break up the current power play. Of course, Courtney would never stoop so low as to scheme with somebody who is so mean to her.
Oh, and one other thing: is it just me, or is Todd starting to actually look like a weasel? The way his head is sorta craned forward with his slight overbite & tilted-up nose. Reminds me of a Disney character I can’t place.
You kidding? She has always looked bad. This episode, however, she was looking flat out hideous. To the point that my wife even made a comment on it.
I don’t think Peigh Gee looks bad.
I know we’ve speculated about this before but I’d like to know if a HII can be used if it’s stolen? Contestants in prior years have hidden them, but James keeps them in his backpack.
I don’t know if there’s an “official” source, but I believe the Hidden Immunity Idol cannot be stolen. One player can willfully pass it on to another, but that has to be done in view of Survivor staff (i.e. on camera, though not necessarily in view of other players). Hence Mookie’s clumsy passing off of the Idol to Alex a mere few feet from the rest of the tribe on Survivor: Fiji, witnessed by Dreamz.
What if someone hides the HII? I can see that if s/he puts it with his/her personal swag, it’s off limits. But suppose s/he hides it out in the bush and someone happens upon it? Who does it belong to now?
You can nail it to the shelter of the enemy tribe if you want. Nobody can use it if you did not hand it explicitly in front of a camera.
Hmmm. Dunno. My first thought was well, hell, that’d be pretty stupid, wouldn’t it? If it were up to me, I’d say “finders keepers” and let the one who found it keep it if for nothing else than to punish the stupidity of the one who hid it. But I don’t know how Jeff & Co. would react.
Yeah, we believe that’s the rule - but what if the producers decided “hiding” it was akin to putting it back up for grabs? That is, relinquishing possession of it in and of itself might constitute “giving it away”, even if the recipient was not a direct recipient.
On the other hand, was it ever established that stealing something from another player was grounds for expulsion? Because if one player were to steal another player’s immunity idol (other than the necklace), then while the thieving player couldn’t use it, neither could the other player, because they don’t actually have it to play. We’ve never seen that sort of thing play out. Would the producers force the thief to return the II?
I agree that Jeff tossing the fake HII into the fire was one of the greatest Survivor moments EVAH! The snarkier he gets, the better the show gets!
I saw Todd’s self-destruction coming 2 weeks ago. No one gets that full of himself in this game without some form of comeuppance looming.
Anyone else catch that mild “EWWWW!” look on Frosti’s face as Courtney was cuddling with him?
DVR rewind moment of the week: did James really say “swinging dick” ? And “hairy dick”  ? Is there a second meaning to that phrase I’m not aware of? And even so, how did that get past the CBS censors?
Oh, and rockle : didja notice that the tribe almost named itself after your beloved MONKEYS?
Yeah, that raised my eyebrows a bit. I think what he said exactly was a personal variation of “every Tom, Dick and Harry” – “every swinging Dick and Harry”.
I know that planning on Survivor never comes to fruition after the next tribal council, but knowing the current Todd/Amanda quest for survivor domination will be the next to go home?
-
Erik - one of the two last Zhan Hu now that Frosti has gone native. Not dangerous enough to be next one out but PG is smarter and may be able to swing votes.
-
PG - The other Zhan Hu. Definately more dangerous than Erik in scheming and immunity challenges, the Fei Longs would be smart to get her out asap - but do they really see her as a threat?
-
Courtney - Wildcard. Annoying. Scary to look at. Could easily derail the Todd/Amanda plan so she’s dangerous to keep around. On the other hand - why would you NOT want to take her to the last vote with you?
-
JR - Quite possibly as dangerous to the Plan as Courtney, but if you can mange to take both of them to the final three, you’re guarantied to win.
-
The Field - The unexpected could always happen, but is there a real chance of Amanda leading a coup against Todd or Frosti being ousted as an IndivImmunity threat? Is Denise a compromise candidate?
PG thinks she’s smart and the other players think she’s smart, but PG has not shown one smart move in this entire game.
On top of that, she has no poker face (neither does John-Robert for that matter) and if she ever were to lead a coup, I don’t think she could keep it together all the way through Tribal Council.
Gah…I need to remember not to go to TWOP for my Survivor discussion needs. There are actually people over there* bitching at Probst for chucking the fake II in the fire, because he’s slapping poor Jaime around, apparently.
*Including Miss Allie, I might add. I used to like Miss Allie. When did she decide to like all the people I hate and hate all the people I like on this show?
Preach it, Brother! Stopped going there a long time ago, I couldn’t stand the hate. But some dudes like it, and thus “different strokes for different folks”.
Oh, please! I wish he’d smacked her around a little more. Especially after her throwing the immunity challenge a few episodes back, and not even trying to make it look like she wasn’t.
