Survivor 4/17/08

Whoa.

Did anyone else just watch this?

Ozzy got blindsided!

I loved that!!!

I saw that. I honestly did not think it would happen. Wow.

That makes three of us. LOVED it.

Eliza’s reaction was priceless!

I’m kind of glad they did it…finally! I thought they were going to wimp out again.

I like Jason’s speech at TC about crossing his fingers…and then Ozzy and James’s reactions to that.

But seriously…how old are these people? If you’re going to give your word with no intention at all to follow through on it, just go ahead and lie to the guy. Crossing your fingers is sixth-grade crap, and doesn’t really mean anything, no matter how much it may assuage your atrophied conscience.

That was a thing of beauty.

Tell me, has anyone ever managed to use the HI properly? I remember one guy playing it at a TC when there actually wasn’t a single vote cast against him. And James and now Ozzie got voted out with the HI(s) in their packs. Others?

Yep. Gary Hogeboom. It was a classic survivor moment.

It just goes to show that Cirie is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I watched the last few minutes twice I enjoyed it so much!

One of the best survivor episodes ever. The group dynamics over the next week should be interesting. Who do we think is the mastermind? Cirie or Parvati? Who will get “blamed” or “credited”?

Wow, what a great episode – so much stupidity AND cleverness juxtaposed.

First, what in the world is going on in Jason’s head? He keeps making the point about Ozzie being such a threat because he wins Individual Immunity challenges – and then basically wins the first two himself. Um. Think carefully, Jason, what does winning those contests make YOU?

Second, how he expected to benefit from throwing that challenge at the last minute baffles me. Why didn’t he immediately put the question to Parvati instead? “How about YOU throwing it so everyone gets to eat? You are in tight with the main block, YOU don’t need the II.” Dumb. Okay, it worked out for him, sort of. But he didn’t buy himself any friends or any kind of alliance, he just got pushed aside because Cirie was smart enough to know this was the perfect chance to get Ozzie.

I don’t blame Ozzie all that much for not using the HI, but he was certainly a sore loser. I guess it goes along with all the arrogance and smugness he was having over his control of the game. It’s happened several times – the ‘leader’ of an alliance gets so comfortable, so sure he’s dictating the elimination order and just never seems to think in time that everyone else in the alliance ALSO wants to win, and they all know they have to climb over his body to do it.

BTW, how long do we have to spoiler box?

I have to admit I giggled with glee and bounced with joy. I thought it wouldn’t work.

I think Parvati will be blamed.

jayjay, I was thinking pretty much the same thing.

Yeah, Ozzy is a SORE loser… “I liked you guys. Now I hate you. Screw you.” Such gracious parting words…

Man, that was beyond wonderful. I really liked Ozzy in his previous season, but he’s been so smug and smarmy this season that I was happy to see him go.

Mr. ThInK actually clapped when the final vote was revealed.

Ozzy’s a dumbshit. He got outed last week as holding the HII. You have to figure that you’d be the prime target the next TC no matter what. No way are the others going to let you get down to the last 4 or 5 with the idol. Better to play it at once and hope you can win immunity later than to get suckered like he did. What a maroon.

Wow. Does this totally overcome my Cirie hate for engineering the demise of Yau Man…? Nah. But it does assuage me a bit. OK, a lot.

Of course, Ozzy the Idiot will make a great jury member. “My question is SCREW YOU!!”

Kind of pointless. I didn’t click on the thread before the show started, but I was too slow moving my mouse over it and the preview popped up and there it was.

DeathLlama and I celebrated greatly. Ozzy sucks, and his arrogance made him a fool. We were saying that there’s no way Jason would be outwitting anyone in this game, but then realized Ozzy’s arrogance was his form of stupidity. What an ass. Enjoy Eliza’s company and the seat next to her for the next few weeks.

FTR, we hate all of the remaining favorites…except James.

New favorite Survivor line:
“Man, that would suck…aw, BITCH!” ::::splash::::

James about Jason: “Stupidest survivor EVER.”

Umm no, I’m pretty sure having 2 Immunity Idols and still getting voted off, is much stupider.

Jeff looked pretty pissed about what happened. You would think that the players would start listening to what Jeff is saying during Tribal Council. He did everything but flat out say: “Use the hidden idol!”

That was awesome. This is definitely in my top five (or so) of great survivor episodes.

I’m amazed that James had the whole second scheme about pegged (“they’re trying to do the girl power thing”) and Ozzy gave that confessional that indicated his antenna were up… and then just let himself get blindsided. Then again, Ozzy threw over the IC for three freaking chocolate doughnuts; that’s arrogant, when it sure looked like he could have taken that challenge. So maybe he got what he deserved.

Top jury mugs:

  • Jason, looking so depressed and hopeless after the rest of the tribe admits they they’re basically lying sacks.

  • Jason, getting a glimmer of hope when the third Ozzy vote shows up.

  • Amanda, as the Ozzy votes rolled in. Really great, genuine (as opposed to Eliza’s over-the-top mugging) “Oh. My. God.” realization. That was just beautiful.

Other random Comments:

  • Alexis looked so disbelieving that she didn’t get the food. Man, she looked put out. I don’t blame her a bit, fate really smacked her one. And James’ mistake was hilarious, “aw Bitch!”

  • No class in that speech from Ozzy, or his exit behavior when heading toward the torch snuffing. Jerk.

  • Agree with the above comments about folks crossing their fingers. There’s mature adults that actually do that?

Hey, is Ozzy up one the “ponderosa” vids yet, having a hissy fit, breaking furniture and all? ETA: he is up there now, and he’s pretty calm.

Yeah, I don’t recall what Jeff said, something like “Jason is toast, or somebody’s going to get a big surprise”. That seemed a bit over the line, because arguably Jeff would know about all the planning the factions were doing – he can see (or hear about) the same video we see. I assume the producers and Jeff take advantage of this to craft TC questions .
