Yeah, he was pretty civil to Eliza. (despite her outing Ozzy’s idol and basically trying to screw him) Ozzy’s undoing was he stopped playing this week and was already planning the end of the game. He should have won immunity to ensure Jason’s ouster. His youth definitely showed with his comments about how delicious the reward food was.
Parvati is rather stupid. She was feeling flush with power after winning immunity, but on this island, everyone who wins will be gone shortly, victims of the target of jealousy. It’s basically a Chet season… see who can win the least. If you can bumble your way into as many losses as possible without either quitting or wounding yourself, you’ll win a million bucks.
I predict James and Amanda are gone next, with Cirie / Parvati / Jason being the next targets.
Naw, Lib, I’m with ya, but I’ve hated Jason and Parvati for a long, long time. He did pull a bone-headed move, tho, and has no one to blame but himself. If you look at the Ponderosa clips, he knows that, too. He would’ve played the idol, but he left it back at camp! :smack:
My favorite line of the night came from James when Cirie and Natalie (?) gave up for the candy dish - “What the Nickelodeon is goin’ on?” James gives such good sound bites!
Well, I’m not a huge Ozzy fan (I did have a soft spot for him on Cook Islands, but not until the Mutiny and the triumph of the underdogs). I was happy to see him go.
But as I’ve said before, a well-executed blindside is a thing of beauty and a joy forever, regardless of whether you were a fan of the deceased or not. I can’t imagine that even the two or three fans of the Himbo Quartet in Fiji weren’t tickled by the way the double blindside that removed Edgardo worked out.
Hey, I’ve been rooting for Ozzy, but I’m also a fan of The Game. On an episode like this one, you (well, I) have to set aside rooting for individuals, and just enjoy how the surprises unfold and it all plays out. It was an awesome upset, and the underdogs turned the worm deftly.
I’m an Ozzy fan, so I’m disappointed that he’s gone.
On the other hand, I’d have been more upset if Jason had been voted off. I understand that for many players lying is part of the whole Outwit, Outplay thing so that one can Outlast others. But it bugged me that everyone was apparantly willing to “personally guarentee” that they wouldn’t vote for Jason this week, eat the food, and then vote for him anyway, on the grounds that he was stupid to believe them for a moment.
James is cracking me up this season…that was a great line about thinking he was the dumbest Survivor ever, too bad (for him) it didn’t pan out like he thought it was going to! I love the preview for next week, too, when he’s talking to Parvati and she’s all like “I like you, James (I guess he couldn’t figure that out when she boned him on day one, right?), I don’t want it to be awkward,” and he says, “oh, it’s gonna be awkward.” What did she expect? She’s one of those girls who thinks she can always win a guy over by flirting, but I’m not so sure it’s going to work this time.
Something else you can lay at Ozzy’s door is the way the Favorites went from a 7/4 lead to being tied with the Fans. And I’d guess the James & Amanda vs. Parvati & Cirie split will insure they don’t come back together as a voting bloc.
My guess for the next bootee is whichever of James and the Ozzie-wannabee doesn’t win the II next. I really think there’s a pretty strong Girl Power Alliance right now.
Once again, Cirie proves she is the brains of this whole season. A complete non-factor in challenges, she comes back from two days alone on Exile Island and in one afternoon manages to correctly assess the situation in camp, turn it to her advantage, and convince her group that her dangerous idea is not only a good one, but gets them to act on it as well.
In addition to getting the strongest player off the island, she has also suceeded in shoving the “leader” of the new strong alliance (Pavarti) into a position of alienation.
I see it going from here: either James or Amanda go next, then Cirie pushes Pavarti off a cliff, then the leftover of James/Amanda, and as all this happens, Cirie will be manouvering one of the remaining fans into a position where he/she must be the next one to go. Voila, final four.
I don’t know how she does it, but she’s got something that no other Survivor contestant has ever had. Richard Hatch did it, but no one knew it at the time. Everyone knows the strategies now, and Cirie still manages to direct this tribe without anyone catching on.
It’s like watching a conductor in front of her orchestra.
Jason was stupid to believe everyone in a game for a million dollars, but he could’ve used the guarantees a little better.
Everyone: “We guarantee”
Jason: “If everyone agrees not to vote me out, then there’s no reason for me not to have the Immunity Idol. Unless you are lying…”
Of course I’m still waiting for someone to try this, maybe as they’re getting snuffed out: “If <player>'s in the final three, I’m voting for them!”
Ensuring that no one’ll want to go to the final 3 with them and they’ll get voted out.
I noticed that the first thing Cirie did when she returned from Exile Island was to give Ozzy the Hug of Death, with a big smile on her face.
Oh, she’s good.
What the hell was Ozzy thinking?
Here’s what he should have been thinking: “Everyone knows I have the immunity idol. Plus, I’m a proven threat to win individual immunities. And now I’m in a situation where I didn’t win immunity. It’s a rare chance for the others to get rid of me. Let’s see, now…didn’t James get blindsided in just such a situation? Hmm…”
Isn’t it a bit premature to crown Cirie the Godmother? I thought Parvati was the one who turned, why isn’t she the Godmother? Or did I miss a scene where Cirie convinced Parvati to turn??
If we’re giving out kudos to the person who turned Parvati, weren’t the female fans doing most of the stroking?
I’m not so sure the Fans vs. Favorites survivors were able to watch that far into the previous season before they had to head out for taping this one. So Ozzy likely never saw James get blindsided.
He still should have known they’d be gunning for him, though.
I’m loving Cirie as the “Godmother.” How many ousters has she engineered now that none of them are aware of?
I expect they were playing to the cameras, which they surely knew were behind them.
Great episode, and what a crap exit speech from Ozzy. He “hates” them for playing smarter than he did? Pffft!!
James is great. Parvati has a lot of nerve to ask him to stop working so she can sleep. Or work somewhere else.
Cerie needs to watch out, though, she may be next. She’s unlikely to win immunity, and I don’t think anyone would want to go up against her in front of the jury.
Wouldn’t James have talked to Ozzy about what happened?
So, if Ozzy left the immunity idol back at the camp, do you suppose Amanda knows where it is? I would love to see a “reverse” blind side, where someone plays the immunity idol now that everyone thinks it’s out of play.
