Survivor 3 April (open spoilers possible)

For mouse hover…

Wow. Best season since 1. Maybe ever. Ozzy simply rules. I think he’s playing a very smart game this time. Pouncing on known threats is the right way to go. Definitely sorry to see Ami go, but I thought early on that she was playing a dangerous game.

Loved the preview. “That can’t be the hidden idol.” “Why not?” “Because it’s just a stick.” And of course, the merge is coming. That’s hardly a spoiler to anyone who’s ever watched the show.

I think Ozzie made a mistake voting out Ami.

Why didn’t Ami, Cirie, and Peter Frampton vote out Amanda? They know that none of them are in good shape after the merge, so why not upset the balance of power now? They never even mentioned the possibility.

I am amazed how Cirie has continued to skate at TC every week even though she contributes absolutely nothing to each challenge. (My God, she was trying to throw the swinging sandbags OVERHAND during the IC tonight.) Maybe they would actually win one if they thought to jettison the biggest albatoss around their collective neck.

I was laughing my butt off at that. Poor Jason. I’ve been really trying to like him the entire season, but man he’s clueless.

Because I’m pretty sure Cirie thinks she has a nice cozy alliance with Amanda and Parvati. Man…who thought coming into this season that Parvati would be the alliance mastermind?

That’s what I’ve been screaming all season. She’s such a waste of space!

With the merge upon us, maybe she gets the axe next week.

I was surprised at how emotional Ami was at Tribal. She always struck me as someone cold and calculating, but here she is shedding tears (yes, perhaps of a crocodile variety). It seemed like she genuinely lost her cool tonight, at least to me, and that wasn’t something I was expecting to see. My SO was theorizing a hormone issue, I’m siding with bad/over acting, but I was genuinely surprised at the way it played out in tribal. I’m not surprised at the outcome – Ami played an underhanded move last week, and got caught and paid the price.

On the other hand, what I was hoping to see was Jason playing that FII (Fake Immunity Idol). I guess we’re still a few episodes from that, but here’s hoping.*

How many times do we get to see Cirie making the same damned speech: “oh, gosh, I don’t know who to vote for! Whatever shall I do?!?” Do we need to see this every week, Survivor producers? Really?

I thought Erik had broken some ribs after that slam he did in the challenge. It was kind of anticlimactic afterward – “Oh, gosh, Erik is hurt! Are you OK?” Erik pulls up his shirt, revealing nary a bruise, “wow I’m sooo hurt, dude!” Whatever.

*Do we spoiler next-week’s previews? If so then:Damn, Eliza clued Jason on the FII: “It’s just a stick!!” Dammit, shut up Eliza!

I see I spoilered something that was brought up in post #2. Apologies for the reading comprehension.

I respect your opinion a lot, and so I wonder why you say that. As Ozzy said himself, the fact that she had already gone after him once was assurance that she was untrustworthy. He also knows that his little apprentice will follow him to the ends of the earth. Why would it have been better to get rid of him? Just look how he ran to the boat and poured his heart out before Ozzy’s feet were even dry. “Oh, Ozzy, they’re gonna kill me. Help! I need you!”

Amanda is in the best shape of her life. It’s just breathtaking to watch her scamper around in that brown bikini.

I have to leave now for a few minutes…

Oh, yeah…that was kind of funny. I think someone mentioned this in a previous Survivor thread, but Erik reminds me of the yappy little dog that follows the big, tough bulldog around in the WB shorts, constantly yelping, “What’re we gonna do now, Butch? Huh? Huh, Butch? Do you wanna bone, Butch? Can I getcha a kitten to knock around, huh, Butch?”

That was very satisfying after that evil passive-aggressive bitchy thank you she gave Erik when she was so sure she saved herself. Man, I wanted to reach thru my TV and back-hand her during that.

I certainly hope Eliza didn’t convince Jason the idol was fake. Probst has said in an interview that someone does something so monumentally stupid that James’ blunder pales in comparison - it certainly seems that Jason playing that pathetic stick would fit the bill!

Yeah, the only possible response to that was “Fuck you too.” Jesus what a bitch.

I would love it if the producers decided to make a crudely crafted (but authentic) Hidden Immunity Idol next season just to see the person who finds it throwing away the treasure based on looks alone. Then, Probst can smugly ask at the reunion why they didn’t play the idol that would have saved said person.

I think he made a mistake because it rocked the boat. Prior to this, all the attempts to shake the Favorites alliance pre-merge had failed and it had built a sort of emotional intertia into the players…things had gone according to plan, why rock the boat? Now, just before the merge, he does three unwise things: 1)JUST after complaining that he wasn’t the leader of the tribe, he gets everyone to vote out someone who had not previously been the target, 2)he shakes up the alliance and 3)reveals that he’s a touch vindictive and makes himself even more threatening. Add that to the fact that Parvati is already scheming to get rid of him and James and I think it was a mistake. Had he welcomed Ami back into the fold, she could have been a spy for him with any potentially threatening alliances.

I was surprised at the Ami ouster, just because I’ve learned never to trust the editors, and that there are almost never surprises at TC. If that makes sense.

Ami seemed to be way too emotionally invested in alliance dynamics…methinks she has Underlying Issues.

Why, or why has no one even *thought *about booting Cirie? She’s useless *and *a schemer.

And Parvati’s in an All-Girl alliance? How will she use her feminine wiles?

(and note the number of posts to this thread. Survivor has definitely dropped off the SDMB radar)

Which is too bad, because this has been an outstanding season. (I’m the only person in my office watching, too – season before last, it was three out of four of us, though none of us made it all the way through China.)

I missed that. Was this something that happened in TC?

After Ami caught Erik making his play to Cirie and Amanda on the beach, she had her heart-to-heart with them. In the next scene, she strolled up to Erik with a machete in her hand, and said she had to thank him for spilling the beans about her behavior to C&A, since it forced her to open up to them, and they welcomed her into the tribe. She continuously used the machete as a pointing device during the scene, to the point where I was convinced Erik was leaving there without a vital part of his anatomy.
