Survivor: Fiji - Ep. 10: "It's A Turtle?!"

I wouldn’t put anything past those two. Did they show the actual II in the previews? or just them rumaging through his bag?

btw, it is completely bugging me that the fake II is not getting found. If I were Yau my head would have exploded.

That was one of the better episodes ever. Its great to see people actually strategize and fool others. I thought it was a pretty good play by the 4 horseman as well, they just got outwitted. This is turning out to be one of the best seasons in a long time. My hope for the final 3 is dreamz (I just like the guy, I don’t care that he talks like a moron), Yau Man and Earl. That would be an awesome, and deserving final 3.

Just rummaging through the bag and pulling out a cord, which presumably would have been tied to the idol.

This is the stage of the game where an alliance of two could really do some damage by switching allegiances back and forth between the larger factions.

Stacy and Dreamz, if they were to recognize their positions as outsiders and form an alliance, could do well. This week, they could secretly switch to a temporary alliance with Alex and Mookie, and vote off Earl (knowing he doesn’t have the immunity idol).

Next week, they could join with a desperate Cassandra and Yau-man and vote off Alex.

The following week, they could ally with a desperate Mookie to vote off Cassandra.

Voila! They would be in the final four!

Don’t know why this never occurs to outsiders at this stage, but the possibility arises almost every time.

Jeff clearly stated that the Idol can not be stolen.

When did he say that?

Yep. In fact, they’ve said that even if you want to give the idol to someone else, you have to be sure the transfer is filmed, otherwise they will assume the Idol is stolen and is still the property of whoever had it last.

If it’s stolen, will Jeff call them on it, or will it have to wait until they try to use it, I wonder?

That would a great move.Dreamz won’t be able to come up with that,Stacey could tho,as much as I dislike Dreamz that is exactly what he and stacey need to do,but the pact would have to be rock solid and not sure if Dreamz could manage that kind of bond.

I think the show would have shown this ,but how awesome would it be if Yau dug up his fake and planted it in his bag?Maybe the producers left it unaired to fool a lot of viewers,I don’t remember it even being mentioned except for the episode were Yau buried it. I will be real disappointed with Yau if he is careless enough to hide the real II in his bag.

On preview I see it can’t be stolen…but I bet there is no rule about stealing a fake one…hehe, Yau you devil. I hope it is the fake…I can’t even imagine a bigger look of disbelief and shock than last nights TC,but if they do steal the fake and use it, I think we will see reactions of historical magnitude.Alex might start bleeding from his ears and Mookie will mess his drawers.Course Mook and Alex must know they can’t steal it,so its probably a mook point.

I just assumed that once an II is played, it’s out of the game forever – I was surprised to hear they’ll re-bury a new one (and logistically, how exactly do they do that? The easiest, I guess, would be to plant it on Exile Island).

I actually felt sorry for Stacy. Unanimous winner of the “person you don’t want to see again” award – man, that’s gotta sting a little, even if you’re a self-absorbed twit.

Yeah, I don’t know what he was thinking, or if he even was thinking. He’s kinda playing both sides, but not fully either way. Why the hell did he seem so hesitant in forming an alliance with Earl, yet he clearly was betraying his other team. And the way Earl felt him out on Mookie’s HII was brilliant-- asking what it looked like, but not revealing that he knew what the answer needed to be.

I thought for sure Stacy would win the IC, because those type usually go to the smallest woman, but Yau stepped up to the plate nicely. He is just great in this season. Love the guy. But I still think Earl is the guy to win. He’s more of an over-al good player than Yau is, IMHO.

oh yeah, trying to use the idol to be told it is a fake must be the shocker of a lifetime. THAT would be fun.

I agree with you that The Syndicate should have no problem with Dreamz–he gave them extremely valuable and accurate information and he voted as they told him to. The problem isn’t with The Syndicate. The problem is with Dreamz. He is extremely distrustful of everyone. Have you noticed what happens if anyone questions his loyalty even just the tiniest bit? Like just asking him “Are you sure you’re with us?” He flips out and goes and talks to the other alliance. Just based on his past behavior, I could very easily see him being upset that The Syndicate didn’t trust him enough to vote for Mookie. It all depends on his reaction to the rest of them voting for Edgardo. If he keeps his cool, then all is good for another week or two.

You’re right, of course. And in this case, it’s actually going to benefit Dreamz more than it’s going to hurt anyone else. If Alex & Mookie don’t trust him, they won’t include him on any of their plans, which means he can’t wreck them. If The Syndicate doesn’t trust him, they won’t include him on any of their plans, which means he can’t wreck them. And in the meantime, while Alex & Mookie are trying to get even with Earl & Yau & Cassandra, Dreamz is just there, voting however he wants to, but not really anybody’s target, because nobody knows whose side he’s on. Everybody can use Dreamz’s vote, so in the meantime, Dreamz can be on the only side that matters: his own.

Catbird seat, indeed. Dreamz may end up un-alliance-ing himself right into the Final Four, because nobody knows what to do with him. He may not be well-spoken, than Dreamz, but he’s no dummy.

Regarding ownership of the idol: There was talk tonight betewen Alex and Mookie about who had control of the idol It sounded like Alex said something like “You touched it first, so it’s yours, but you should give it to me.” Sounds like the producers had a talk with them about the finer points of the rules.

Easily one of the top 5 Survivors.

When did Mookie get to be such an unpleasant jerk? I was gleeful that his alliance got smushed like a cockroach, even if they sacrificed the very handsome Edgardo.

Mookie: “Cassandra made the worst mistake of her life and I’m going to pick off her alliance one by one.” He He. The look on The 3 Horsemen’s faces was priceless.

Goooooo Cassandra! She’s got brains. Instead of choosing her bestest friends, like previous winners, to accompany her on her yacht outing, she chose Boo and Dreamz, knowing that it would help her woo them over to her side.

And kudos to Earl for realizing that strategically she needed to leave him behind. Speaking of Earl, I really like him. He seems like a really decent chap but is not afraid to strategize.

YaoMan is so darling but he’d better back off the gloating a bit. He’s smart and agile. Not sure that the others finding his HII is a huge advantage. He can still give it away. And the dude last year (whose name escapes me) deliberately told people he had it so he could use it to his advantage.

Dreamz, Dreamz, Dreamz. He is a complete crack up. He reminds me of the cartoon character who walks unscathed down a road with boulders crashing all around him.

I, too, felt bad for the bitch Stacy. Man, that was one awful challenge for her. The 4 Horsemen knew that they needed Stacy’s vote; I wonder why they didn’t at least try to appease her in some way.

Brilliant move on Stacy’s part by targeting Edgardo.

I thought the challenge really favored slight people.

Finally, I initially didn’t like that they were going to re-bury the HII. But after consideration, I think it’s a good idea. Winners are undoubtedly going to now send a member of their own alliance to Exile Island because they don’t want to risk the other alliance discovering the HII. On the other hand, that could create some hard feelings among folks in your alliance. So it could be a great twist.

What happens if someone steals the idol but doesn’t try to use it? Does the guy who originally found it still get to use it even though it isn’t in his possession? If not, then stripping an opponent of the HI could have some real value.

The producers would rectify the situation before tribal council is my guess. The intention is the owner of the idol retains possession until it is willfully given away to another player. Just like the immunity necklace, it cannot be stolen, taken, nor destroyed by other players, or that would defeat the point of earning it.

Count me among those beginning to like Earl more and more. I liked how he assessed that Dreamz is unstable and unreliable just from looking him in the eye.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he let them find it on purpose. The way it works this year, you have to play the idol before the votes are tallied, not knowing whether anyone has voted for you. That makes playing the idol a bit of a crap shoot, as Alex learned last night.

On the other hand, letting the opposing faction know you have the immunity idol might well discourage them from voting to boot you. Seems to me that makes the idol more of an advantage if it is not kept secret.

So I can see where Yau-man might want to “inadvertently” reveal his possession of the idol to the other team to keep them from voting for him. He wouldn’t want to reveal it in an obviously “on purpose” way, though, for fear of damaging his relationship with Earl (who is depending on the other team thinking he -Earl- might have the idol).
