Survivor: Game Changers Starts on Wednesday

He’s also not a very good player. Brad’s “having Caleb around would be bad for you because you’re close to him” doesn’t stand up to even the most rudimentary analysis. That Tai falls (repeatedly) for such obviously self-serving BS is very odd.

Now maybe the rest of the tribe made it obvious that it was Caleb going home and the soul-searching was just made-for-TV misdirection, but if Tai actively decided it was better for his game for Caleb to go before Hali then he’s kinda hopeless.

Good on Troy for finding the idol, and I do love the “hide idols during challenges” idea. Hopefully someone finds the other clues so we can see more of it.

My wife wondered if maybe they will keep doing tribe shake-ups. Maybe draw back down to two in the next episode or two. That would certainly keep these “game changers” on their toes a bit more, but maybe adds too much randomness?

Sure. Though maybe he was looking for pen & paper, so if he did find an idol he could give it to someone on another tribe while writing them a love letter.

I wonder what the rule is for when someone hides the idol not in their stuff. If someone just finds it stuck in a tree, they would assume it wasn’t someone else’s.

Exactly.

Mrs. Wheelz was literally screaming at the TV during the goat discussion. I would have had a hysterical wife on my hands if somebody had killed a mama goat six months ago halfway around the world. For that reason alone, I’m glad they didn’t do it.

As for the vote - meh. The “game changers” just stuck with old tribal lines, which makes for a boring TC. Plus, I would have expected more back-against-the-wall desperate shit-stirring from Caleb and Hali, instead of just throwing their votes away on each other.

Best. Tribal. Ever.

That was fun

And Sandra survives another day…

Loved it, kudos to whoever came up with this new twist to the game.

Well, that was fun! In retrospect, talking to the other team was insane. Never give them info they can use to adjust their game. The team of 6 should have had a plan, kept their mouths shut, and executed.

Here’s what I was half-expecting to happen, and what I would have pushed for had I been on the team of five: “We’re all voting for Sandra. If any of you want her out, here’s your chance. Let’s vote.”

In any case, though, their correct guess with the idol allowed them to get rid of… Malcolm? But why? Can’t understand why it wasn’t Sandra.

That team has been racking up the challenge wins. Malcolm is their strongest challenge player.

No, but a very neat one. Jeff’s face when they all huddled was classic. He loved it and was immediately realizing what a great idea it was to bring two tribes in like that.

Nuts.

I can’t stand Sandra this season. Was she always arrogant and mean sounding? I know she’s won twice, but she seems a lot meaner and rough now.

I thought the same thing, I thought it was a missed opportunity to take out Sandra. There are other players, like Malcolm who pose a threat, but she’s won twice, obviously she knows how to get to the end and take the prize. I really thought she might’ve gotten blindsided.

I think the producers gave Sandra a lot of air time to boast about how safe she was, and that was an indication that she was going to get voted off. Looks like that was a diversionary tactic. I look forward to her being voted off soon!! She’s just nasty and negative and no-good. Vayate!!

I ask again, is her negativity and arrogance new or was she like this? I thought she was a winner for quietly making great relationships with everyone.

Or was she like this and pulled it off?

I don’t recall her being like this in her prior appearances. I’ve never seen any contestant at Tribal Council taunting the person who just got the boot. I can’t wait until it’s her turn.

(I also don’t remember her being an awesome player – she seemed to fly under the radar and somehow make it to the final for no apparent reason. Twice.)

I watched the seasons Sandra was on and I don’t recall her playing the way she is this season. It just isn’t pleasant to watch her so far this season. It annoys me the way she sits in tribal councils and really doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. Unless you have an immunity necklace around your neck, you are fair game. I don’t get her arrogance.

Calm, quiet, relationships. It’s not thrilling play, but it is how she did it.

And incredible, incredible luck. Luck is easily over 50% of winning Survivor. People play perfectly and lose all the time. She just has luck, too.

I feel very much like the third time is not going to be a threepeat, though. I hope not.

I see it in my industry sometimes. When a teacher reaches the point when he/she qualifies for full retirement benefits, their attitude about the work … changes. Sometimes, they do the best teaching of their lives because they feel freer to take risks and think “outside the box”. Other times, they just coast until they feel like walking out.

I think Sandra is just sitting there with an “I don’t give a fuuuuuuuu…ck.” She’s won twice. She’s got money in the bank. For some reason, she enjoys the game, but won’t be hurt to ride out the rest of her time in tropical paradise at Ponderosa.
