Hmm. Well, he seems to leave it open, but he does admit that Colton turned out to be far more universally despised than he realized:
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him invited back, though I hope he’s not.

smack:
I can’t imagine Colton getting invited back for a “couple castaways return” season (which I hope they will be done with for awhile). But I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in an All-Stars season.
Sad to see Jonas go, but he was screwed by getting stuck on the crap tribe. When your strategic confidant is Tarzan, you’re not lasting long. Seemed that his outburst at tribal was a last ditch effort. He’d tried to go for Kat, but knew he didn’t get the numbers. Then he ran out of time, had to go to tribal, and tried to “call an audible” but a) Tarzan the loose cannon wouldn’t go for that kind of shenanigans, and b) the new-Salani alliance considers themselves solid enough not to be swayed.
The men on the new-Salani made a bad mistake by just letting the ladies steer them toward a Manono man without even a little hesitation or an agreement to vote for a woman next time. I agree the new-Salani ladies are in the driver’s seat, since they can play the Salani alliance and/or the women’s alliance as they see fit, and they seem pretty solidly together. Kim, Sab, and Chelsea all seem pretty crafty and strategically aware, and Kat is along for the ride.
I feel like we’re getting a very edited version of Christina. No one seems to like her, and see seems perfectly agreeable and a nice person to me. If I were her, I would have let Colton rot on the sand after the way he treated her.
Or an “All-medivaced” season. Bring back Mike Skupin! (sp?)
Now that would be an interesting season, and even fair. Let the people who didn’t get the chance to complete the game complete it. If they need more people, toss in the contestants who went home with HIIs in their pockets, and the ones who quit. They can call it Survivor: Special Edition - The Sick, Lame and Lazy.
even a “first bootee” edition- give some of those who were voted out right away a chance to last longer than 3 days.
How horrible to be the first person voted off again!
If they contact the ‘first bootees’, would that be a bootee call?
LOL, that would be priceless!
I agree with most of this. There was obviously much we didn’t see back at camp. Jonas was going home and he knew it, which explains his desperate last-ditch outburst at Tribal. I don’t think, though, that his downfall was simply getting stuck on the weak tribe. He didn’t play the game well. Hitching his wagon to Colton seemed like a bad move even before Colton got sick. For whatever reason, players seem to like to blindside the minions before the shot-callers; Colton had an idol on top of that. Jonas was playing himself as Colton’s minion, and had little else going for himself strategically. The “anybody but me” attitude only gets you so far. When it was him, he had no cards to play.
Lief was the only other Mike vote. Doesn’t bode well for the little guy.
could be a bootee re-call, which I think would be worse, since recalls are meant for defective pieces.
I imagine a “First one voted out” season would have a pretty old cast. It seems like the first one voted out in the earlier seasons was usually the oldest castaway.
Out of curiousity, I took a look at how many medical evacuees there have been. By my count:
Mike Skupin (Season 2)
Bruce Kanegai (Season 12)
Gary Strikesky (Season 14)
Jon Penner (Season 16)
James Clement (Season 16)
Joe Dowdle (Season 18)
Mike Borassi (Season 19)
Russell Swan (Season 19)
Kourtney Moon (Season 24)
Colton Cumbie (Season 24)
Quitters:
Osten (Season 7)
Jenna Morasca (Season 8)
Sue Hawk (Season 8)
Janu Tornell (Season 10)
NaOnka Mixon (Season 21)
Kelly Shinn (Season 21)
Other:
Jonathan Libby (Season 10, not selected at start)
Wanda Shirk (Season 10, not selected at start)
The first person voted out of Survivor is 75 today. Rudy is 84!
Didn’t Johnny Fairplay quit on his repeat appearance? or was it a “vote me out” situtation? I forget…
In any case, Jeff has been pretty vocal about his disdain for quitters. I doubt we’d see any of them back, other than Jenna who quit to be with her dying mom.
“Vote me out.”
Kathy Sleckman quit in Fans vs Favorites. IIRC, she was a head case.
