Nadia? Hmm, I would think she’ll go soon.
Agreed, especially since the Probst knew the Merge was just around the corner. The Merged tribe will get the hatchet and pot that they lost. The Tarp was the only thing really missed.
And I think Probst should have told the Orange tribe about what happened on the other tribe. I would have really liked to seen the dynamics between Dale and Missy after Dale learns that Missy was cooking all the rice on the Blue Tribe.
They could have easily handicapped the Immunity Challenge by making the orange tribe retrieve two bags of puzzle flags instead of the three.
Orange Tribe still would have lost the IC because Missy was absolutely worthless in the flag puzzle. She kept giving the wrong pieces to Jon.
Can’t believe I am saying this, but I think I like the remaining Twinnie the best of anyone. Wes is getting an invisible edit.
Not liking Jeremy at all.
Why was there no follow-up on Missy wasting rice this week?
One of his quotes was something like, “That was the hardest thing I’ve ever watched my daughter go through.” Really? Losing on a TV show is the worst thing that’s ever happened to her? Nice life.
But I think this points out some of the psychological aspects of playing Survivor. They are completely immersed in the game to the point that it becomes their entire life, and the stakes must seem disproportionately high to them at the time. It’s something that’s easy to forget watching at home for an hour a week.
I’d bet money it didn’t happen. Dale reiterated multiple times that he would hand the idol over as soon as someone other than Dale had their torch snuffed.
Your version makes much more sense. I guess I just heard what I wanted to. ![]()
I think Jon and Jaclyn are starting to feel like they’re the new Rob and Amber, but they’re a far cry from it. I agree with Lamar Mundane that this isn’t a really compelling bunch so far. Maybe the merge will draw out some players worth watching. Let’s hope.
Jeremy looks to be headed for a meltdown. Julie will probably quit on her own. The three most annoying people left – Missy, Baylor, and Natalie – are about to form an alliance, which I predict will fail spectacularly.
Right now, I’m pulling for either Keith or Josh, basically because they both seem like decent, intelligent guys who haven’t pissed anybody off yet. But it’s possible J & J will keep calling the shots just because nobody will step up to challenge them, which could be dull, dull, dull.
Baylor is far and away my favorite, but I’m super shallow.
If that’s the gay couple, they’re pissing off Jeremy to no end, and likely their entire (new) tribe with all the kissing and cuddling.
This didn’t bother me because it’s consistent with how the production has handled the same situation before (in Season 2). It’s also a clear, straightforward trade that affects everyone equally (either they all go hungry, or they all shiver in the rain).
Offering them an immunity challenge handicap would be letting them off easy, IMHO. At worst it would have affected only the person getting voted off (if they lost), and it might not have affected them at all.
Jeff has never told a tribe what’s happening with the other tribe, with the exception of medical evacuations. I agree that it would have been entertaining and amusing, but there’s no reason to expect that he would or should.
True, but there is always a first time. And three of those tribemates (Jon, Missy, Keith) were on the old blue tribe that ate all the rice.
I guess Natalie could have told Baylor at Exile Island.
And yet at the same time, after having been out there for 13 days, he claims not have made friends with any of them.
How the heck did the orange tribe blow that puzzle? They seemed to be carving through it, only to suddenly decide “we’re just gonna throw up random pieces without looking it.” At least, that’s the only way I can see how they screwed up a (very easy seeming) puzzle.
Natalie actually seems like she’s playing a good game, which is not something I would’ve thought I’d say before the season started. I’m thinking the twinnies are only really annoying/self-destructive (in a game show sense) when they’re together, and individually they’re much better off.
With the merge coming up next episode, I’d be worried if I were Josh/Reed… just seems like that’s the couple that everyone will try and get rid of ASAP. Not sure how the Blue tribe will feel about Jon/Jaclyn, though. I can’t see Keith/Wes or Missy/Baylor going far in the game, though it’s always possible they slip through precisely because of that reason.
I’m enjoying this season, though I don’t have much comment on tonight’s episode. Quitter quits.
A thought came to me while Jeff was saying that the individual immunity winner is safe, and the rest of the tribe has to go to tribal council.
Would it be an interesting wrinkle if the immunity winner wasn’t allowed to vote? And if so, should they even attend tribal council?
The producers need to start having contestants post $10,000 bonds to play. Quit on your own and forfeit your money.
Man, I was all excited to see Josh get voted out, then Julie had to go and be a fucking quitter. I don’t know about posting bonds (if anything, seems like the poorer contestants would be more likely to stay and duke it out) but they should at least put in the rules that a quitter gets minimum or nothing. Not that it likely effects someone who’s mooching off MLB star money. There’s gotta be a better way of judging out mental toughness, though (hint: someone dating John Rocker doesn’t have it).
Felt like Keith got a bit screwed with having his immunity go to waste, even if the promise was still technically correct (“you are guaranteed to move on this in game”).
Hidden immunity idols are still good until there’s only four people left.
Keith doesn’t have an HII. He won the regular old immunity necklace.
Oops - I thought you meant the hidden immunity idol. Yeah, that Individual Immunity was neutered. I think if they hadn’t lost two people right at the start of the game they would’ve still gone to tribal. They have in the past. But the schedule has already been messed up by the initial withdrawal.
Actually, he has (had?) both. He still has a HII.
