SUV experts - your opinions needed!

  1. I want to buy a vehicle with a proper steel chassis (not a crumple box model) - I believe this is called “body on frame”???

  2. I don’t want to buy anything by Nissan (because of the Nissan Sunny which morons drive here), I definintely don’t want a Mitsubishi Pajero (housewives’ car here) and I don’t want anything that looks like a minibus, van, people carrier, estate car, or hearse

  3. I want something more short wheel-based and high and chunky looking, and all the better if I can buy a 2-door version as I have no children: I like the look of some of the sportier Toyota Ravs (though NOT the one that looks like an Echo with slightly bigger wheels) but understand that this car is not body-on-frame, I also LOVE the look of the new 2-door Totoya Prado, sadly that is a million miles too expensive for me. Ditto a new 2-door Lexus I saw :frowning:

  4. My budget is around US$20,000

Suggestions? So far, the only model I have found on sites like this is the Kia Sorento. Any thoughts on this or other models?

I drive an Chevy Avalanche But I am really thinking about getting something more practical. And I am really liking the Honda Element . Which seems to fit more into what you are asking for as well.
