SUV owners: What do you call your vehicle?

My husband’s daily driver is a 4WD Samurai. I call it the little car, or the Pazuki. Technically it’s a “jeep” but I don’t call it that because it’s not a Jeep.
When I had a big Blazer it was the truck or the Blazer. When I had an Isuzu Trooper I called her Suzy.

Honda CR-V owner here, and while I’ve driven in some sick conditions and areas off-roading with it, it’s still a “car” to me.

We call the vehicle a RAV. But sometimes I do call it “your car”

We have one, too, and that’s what we call it in order to distinguish it from the Sentra. I figure if it doesn’t have a bed, it’s a car, no matter what you haul in it.

When we had a Jeep Cherokee, we’d generally call it “the Cherokee” because it wasn’t a Jeep jeep. I wouldn’t call the Escape a jeep because, despite its 4WD and general rugged aspirations, a mere 6 years of weekly off-road abuse broke its tie-rod ends. Sissy.

I call my Grand Cherokee “Rory”

Calling a crossover a truck just seems kind of sad, like telling the 3rd string quarterback he’s a sports star. I love my crossover but it is not, nor would I want it to be, a truck. A better name for these types of vehicles would be LUVs; limited utility vehicles.

Motherfucker.

When it doesn’t start.

“Pepper.” I can’t be the only one since it’s actually named after a kind of pepper. Thing is, to me that name is appropriate because of its spunk, but who the heck’s gonna call their SUV “Spunk”?
