swine flu. also, let's go to Vegas!

Yech. I’ve had two co-workers go home in the past week with something that may or may not be swine flu. Now I’ve got something, too. Don’t know if it’s the flu, but I certainly feel like I’m fighting something off.

Was talking to a friend in Boston today - who’s also sick - and she mentioned that two people at her grad school had died of swine flu.

So, yah. Staying home, drinking chicken soup, listening to music. That’s the ticket, I think. The music is especially key - I’m hoping some They Might Be Giants can at least kick that stupid “Baby Can You Dig Your Man” single out of my head.

Also - once I get over this thing, I’ve been thinking I’d like to go to Vegas. Have a very, very strong feeling I should go to Vegas, actually. Very soon. shrugs Can anyone recommend places to stay, things to do, etc? I’m not much of a gambler.

baby can you dig your man / he’s a righteous man

This made me laugh out loud. I’m just about due to re-read that book again.

My husband told me last week that they have a confirmed case of H1N1 at his job site. Pooey. I too feel like I’m fighting something - had a day last week where I was completely lethargic for no good reason. Oh well - here’s to keeping our immune systems strong and healthy!

Also, I don’t want to go to Vegas. I’ll be in Boulder - I prefer a little altitude.

Gah! Boulder? Really? I don’t trust that old lady - seriously, Vegas is the place to be.

Hmm…swine flu, eh?

Uh, how about you wait a tad before coming here to visit…then again, it’s not like there aren’t already a gazillion cooties on slot machines already so, what the hell, bring it on!

My website might help you a bit, and there are lots of other posters here who have plenty of Vegas experience. Feel free to send me a message if you have any specific questions about coming here!

Hope you’re feeling better.

Someone has never met Randall Flagg.

M-O-O-N. That spells “woosh”.

He ain’t no nice guy, that’s for sure.

That phrase haunts me.

Last thing you want to be thinking of when there’s fellatio about, but there it is.

What’s your price range? Lots of nice places on the Strip.

Me, I’ve got Springsteen’s “Prove It All Night (Live)” blasting out of the speakers.

Thanks for the well-wishes and offer of advice, DMark. Though I really do have some bug or other, I’m not planning on visiting Vegas - that was a reference to Stephen King’s “The Stand”.

I love Vegas… if I had a little extra money this month I’d fake a swine flu sick day or days!! cough cough . A co-workers daughter came down with the flu and our boss told her to take the week off to make sure she didn’t contaminate the rest of the office. cough cough Here’s a funny graphic you might enjoy, its about swine flu. http://typobounty.com/Funny/Swine-Flu.htm

Well the MGM would be a good place to stay. I hear the blackjack tables are comfortable.
