Swiss Spam: Anti-American email regarding my website

I see. Thank you.

If he’s implying that Switzerland hasn’t had its fair share of dumb and narrow-minded politicians in charge, then that just adds to his stupidity. Ye Gads.

No offense to any Swiss posters out there ([sub]yeah, OK, so it’s ony Arnold[/sub]), but Switzerland is easily the most xenophobic country in Europe, and they have the laws to prove it.

Good chocolate and cheese, though.

Well, I suppose that depends on what means by "involved.’ [sub]coughNazibankaccountscough[/sub]

It seems to me that a lot of foreigners are obsessed with America. Why should any of them give a rat’s ass about how patriotic Americans are.

Come to think of it, do any Americans go to message boards/websites from other nations to bitch?

If you have a problem with America and Americans, stop visiting their friggin websites to bemoan them, stop watching their movies, stop listening to their music, stop using their technology, stop eating McDonalds and enjoy the remainder of your days sitting on a frickin’ alp, gnawing on a hunk of cheese whilst admiring the craftmanship of yer damn watch. And yodel to yer heart’s content.

Cuz we don’t give a sheisse!

Who rattled your cage?

If you claim not to give a sheisse then don’t get so defensive.

Lobsang = Lobley

Meaning?

If you are attempting to ‘expose’ me then you are being futile. I made it obvious in threads about changing my ‘handle’ that I used to be lobley

And lighten up. I have.

Unless you want an argument? if so, I’ll leave you to it. I don’t want to be part of it.

Nope. Don’t care to have an argument, but I do find your obsession with America mildly amusing.

Carry on.

Argument, here in the Pit?
I’m terribly sorry, but this is abuse.

No, it looks like you do want an argument.

Bye.

Buh Bye

This isn’t an argument! It’s just contradiction!

Dear Reto:

Sorry we are unable to reply to your latest e-mail, but the webmaster is off-duty, and our emergency system for responding to whiny critiques by xenophobes has been turned off.

You have 44 seconds to register a complaint.
Regards,

Xenophobe?
Reto certainly is no xenophobe, if you ask me.

I didn’t ask you.

What I asked you about was your obsession with lederhosen and yodeling, and I still haven’t gotten an answer. Put down that silly veal knuckle, stop drowning your sorrows in schnapps, and get rid of that silly hat with the feather in it. Then, we can have a serious dialogue about the futility of national stereotypes.

So here’s the reply Jackmannii, sitting at the extreme center, is waiting for:
I never wear lederhosen, and I never yodel. Don’t even know how to do it. Does this answer your question?

That said, what makes you think Reto is xenophobe? A quick look into the dictionary tells us that a xenophobe is someone who is afraid of foreigners, right?

Anyway, wasn’t it Yankee Doodle that had the hat with the feather in it?

I’m trying to be charitable here, Schnitte, by suggesting that good 'ol Reto was motivated by an irrational fear of foreigners (in this case, Americans). But the greater likelihood, of course, is that he’s an asshole, which raises the continuing question of why you’ve set yourself up as his defender.

Again, if nationalist stereotyping is OK with you, why shouldn’t I continue to picture you as a chubby, jocular fellow in lederhosen who alternates yodeling with beer-swilling? Since evasiveness is not traditionally part of the Bavarian character, I’ll expect a prompt answer from you on this matter.

Mersavets, check out the final scene of Stalag 17, where William Holden dons the traditional Bavarian hat with feather as part of his escape disguise. A classic.

We Americans maintain that it was, in fact, macaroni.

It isn’t. Did I ever say so in this post?
I merely said I can to some extent understand Reto’s feelings. His mail is politically anti-American, but to me it is not at all filled with stereotypes against Americans as people.
