Many serious Sybase user/developers use Scott Gray’s sqsh utility as a replacement for isql (sqsh has much more functionality). However, it seems the sqsh home page has not been update since 1999 [remaining at version 1.7]. If you want to visit it: http://www.users.voicenet.com/~gray/sqsh.html
While it is certainly possible that Scott has stopped updating it, does anyone know if there are later versions, or has it morphed into a different program all together?
The FAQ site mentioning sqsh I visited also seemed stuck back in the 90s, so they wasn’t much help (or else my google search needed serious tweaking)
Sorry, no answer for you SirRay. I just wanted to say thanks for the link. I’ve used Sybase since 4.2, and I hadn’t run into sqsh before. I’ll give it a try on Monday.
(These days I’m using SQL Advantage on Win32, and jisql or isql on *nix).
