I just finished this book, and really enjoyed it. And, based on the above spoiler box, I know that at least a couple of you have recently read it too. So, discussion, questions, etc?

Do you think the Group will make it through the winter (it appears so at the end, but there are a lot of long months ahead after Christmas before the ice breaks up).
Will Norm and Pemstar ever return?
Will Star and Marco stay in Alaska?
Did Star get her $300 back from Pan after his accident (or had he spent it first)?
I loved the image of Sess sliding through the snow on his way to Drop City on Christmas eve. The contrast to the Jack London story, where in a similar situation the poor guy could not build a fire was interesting too. Although in that story, I think it was 60 below, as opposed to 40. And, as Pamela mentioned, 60 is critical, 40 is no big deal
