Leechboy has unlimited access to T3 internet connection for his work. It is amazing, so fast, speedy and efficient. WOW.
Think I am going to have to put that on my list of employer requirements up there with equal opportunity and good salary - must have T3 internet connection.
T3? Ha, I laugh at your pathetic T3 connection, bow to me and my OC3 connection and all it’s glory! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!
(actually, I only have the OC3 when I’m on campus with my laptop, otherwise it’s just a cable connection.)
I’m on T3 at work, too, but since it’s shared by out entire network, it’s neither all that nor a bag of chips; my cable modem at home is faster. But then, my cable generally gives me well over 2Mbps, which is purty durn good for cable, so I ain’t complaining!
I was on an OC12, and what made it even better was I was working overnights and for 6 hours of my shift that entire pipeline was split between 4 people.
Of course, after a while it stops paying off as much. You will still have some downloads that are slow simply because the server is slow or it’s far away. I don’t think I ever got a download speed on that OC12 that would be unachievable on a fractional T1.
My fantasy has always been, in the event of a lotto win, to build the house with an integral network, with stations in each room and in the library and garage.
Then find out how much to get a dedicated T3 just for my house.

I still am pinching myself over my cable internet. At 1493.45 Kbps (Kilobits per second—I am told that is near T1) I am a happy camper. I was stuck with a 33.6 connection for YEARS. My modem was a 56K, but the phone lines in my particular corner of Hooterville could only support 56K. I finally snapped one day and got Comcast. I never want to go back!!!
