Take a guess at when you will end up being vaccinated

I’m frustrated. I went online and completed the Washington State phase-finder questionnaire hoping to find out what phase I’ll in. No dice. Apparently if you’re not in the current phase, you’re told only sorry, not your turn yet, but we’ll let you know. There’s a chart on a different site showing phases and expected months of distribution, but it’s also said something like “Future phases coming soon!” for several weeks now. The “future phases” start in May/June. No information on vaccine distribution locations.

My son has severe asthma, and after doing the questionnaire, he still has no clue what phase he’s in or when he’ll be eligible

So apparently they want to keep it a big SURPRISE! Isn’t that fun?

I seem to remember that a lot of Americans were happy last Wednesday. It was on TV and everything.

Silly me! I misread the date you posted. Thanks for setting me straight.

I suspect what that means is ‘nobody has any idea. We all hope somebody figures it out soon and will let all the rest of us know.’

I have some faint hope that Biden will appoint somebody to figure it out who’s actually capable of doing so; but among other things they’ll have to sort out solid information about quantities likely to be available when from guesses being made from the companies supplying vaccine, sort out what’s actually finished research from what’s probably not going to produce effective vaccines within the next year or so, and sort out what percentage of people in each area are likely to take the vaccine willingly. It’ll probably take a while.

Oregon’s official pages just loop you around, referring to each other until you’re back at the start. Some of them have a form to fill out, but there’s no acknowledgement that they received your form and I know only two people who have actually been contacted back after filling out a form.

Sounds like Oregon has adopted the Nebraska System

There’s no unobtanium, or Dodo feathers, or hen’s teeth required to make it, as far as I know. I don’t think running out is going to happen, even if there’s unfortunately no way to speed up production.

More like the NES RPG map system. If it’s like Indiana’s.

What I meant by “run out” isn’t “never ever get it”, but if “my turn” opens up in April, but the people ahead of me in line have already spoken for all the vaccine that will be available until 2022, then from my perspective we have run out of vaccine. And I think that’s a pretty likely scenario. :slightly_frowning_face:

By April there’ll be four other vaccines approved in the US. Supplies are only going to get better

Today, there was fairly heavy snow in Prescott and Prescott Valley, which led to the vaccination sites being closed down and appointments rescheduled to February. I feel so badly for those folks who were let down. It must have been heartbreaking for many of them. :frowning:

The way Oregon is handling this, probably the 12th of never. The goober decided to prioritize teachers and staff over seniors, but they don’t even have enough vaccine for them, let alone the rest of us. Also, the websites continue to crash and nobody can get through on phones. A total clusterfuck, in other words.

Perhaps. Biden promises enough of the two that have already been approved, too. I’ll believe it when i get the appointment.

Websites are working here, but they work to show no appointments available for the rest of phase 1 folks (medical staff, etc.) We shall see.

Are you in the US?

Publix has announced that a new sign up begins today at 5:00 AM. It’s 4:40 AM now and I don’t see any forms or new links on their site. I’ll be there at 5!

At 5 the message changed to:

Our vaccine scheduling system is currently live, but full with other customers. There is tremendous demand for the vaccine and a limited supply, so please be patient and do not leave the page.

This page will refresh in 7 seconds.

If room becomes available, this page will display instructions on how to book an appointment.

I’ve been watching it for an hour and nothing has changed. So, I assume I’m staring at an HTML downcounter that pings refresh when it reaches zero. Not likely to produce results. But, further down the oage it says there are 217 slots remaining. Maybe there’s hope.

Does anyone think that people are using bots (or whatever the term would be) to automate signing onto websites or calling phone numbers over and over to get signed up for appointments? Every time I find a place that has vaccine and you can sign up at 8 am or whatever time, all the appointments are gone in 6 minutes but all I get is an error message. I just don’t understand how some people get through when the whole website or phone system looks like it has crashed on my end.

What is the secret? I know if there’s 9000 shots and 1 million people trying to get them, most of us are going to be left out. But damn.

Plus that leaves you not knowing how long you should keep trying. Is it just crashed or does this mean all the appointments are gone?

Perhaps using the browser to open their page in half a dozen windows would operate the same as ‘bots’.

Yes. Santa Barbara, California.
