An original?
How could they tell?
What I want to know is who is going to hang that picture above the fireplace and tell visitors with a straight face that they paid half a million dollars for it.
Hey, the original is pop history, man! It would be worth $50,000 for that alone. And a man who pays half a mill for Dogs Playing Poker obviously isn’t afraid to buy anything.
What’s really frightening is that there had to be at least two people who thought half a million wasn’t unreasonable, or else it would not have been bid up that high.
