It’s a beautiful day on the Quad

On the eastern side of the quad, students who had been waiting for the group waved signs mocking the WBC’s trademark “God Hates Fags” poster. The signs bore slogans such as “God <3’s internet porn,” “God hates the new Facebook,” and “God hates dial-up.”

Once again, I am refreshed with faith for our future.

The “God hates Figs” signs and pamphlets (based on the biblical account of Jesus’ rebuke of the fig tree) sound like the best. Wish I had one.

Some of the counter-protesters were raising money for the Howard Brown Health Center, which provides health care for LGBTQ people near the University of Chicago.
