Take this psychological test

I got this in an e-mail today. I’m curious to see if anyone on here can answer the question correctly.

From the e-mail:

This is a genuine psychological test. It is a story about a girl.
While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a man whom she did not know. She thought this man was amazing. She believed him to be so much her “dream guy” that she fell in love with him there and then. A few days later, the girl killed her own sister.

Question: What is her motive in killing her sister?
Answer:

She was hoping that the man would appear at the funeral again. If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American psychologist, used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in this test and answered this question correctly. If you didn’t answer correctly - good for you. If your friends hit the jackpot, I suggest that you keep your distance.

So be honest…did you answer the question correctly?

My father sent me to it and I felt like an idiot for not being able to figure it out. But frankly, it seems like Glurge. IIRC the predictors for sociopathy are not that simple and are not easily faked, which this could be.

And you would be correct, ShibbOleth.

Well, that’s silly. I mean, when I read it, I figured that since she fell in love with him there, she had a conversation with him and somehow had a way to contact him, then met him after that. I read the spoiler and thought:

Huh? If she fell in love, haven’t they talked and arranged contact info already? That makes no sense!

So either I’m really good at filling in blanks that aren’t there… or… uh, something. Heh.

My thought was “the man Little Sister fell in love with was her own brother, but Big Sister never told her they had a brother (possibly he was adopted) and Little Sister got mad and killed Big Sister.”

All I could come up with was that her sister was her identical twin and she was afraid that Dream Man would fall in love with her sister instead of her, so naturally her sister had to be disposed of.

My mom asked me that a couple of months ago. I should point her to that Snopes article…

By the way, neither my kid sister or I got the right answer. Mom was so relieved…

That doesn’t even make sense, how could she be sure the mystery man would care about her sisters death?

He could have been her mothers secret beau for all she knew.

I thought maybe her sister was newly married, and the psycho chick had been oh, out of state or something and thus the guy was her sister’s new husband or something.

I thought he was a gold digger and would only marry her if she had a lot of money. Of course her sister hadhalf the inheritance, so bye bye sis…

I don’t think even most psychopaths would think like that… psychopaths usually only kill people in their WAY… maybe if you coupled the psychopathy with extreme sadism…

My immediate thought: The Dream Guy was possibly, as WV Woman said, her sister’s new beau/hubby… that’s about all that passed through my logic successfully…

You see, since the only contact the girl in love has had with her love is at funerals of female members of her family, she instigates another funeral to meet him again. It makes perfect sense…

If the girl wanted to keep talking to him, why didn’t she just ask him his contact info?

Oh wait, that would make too much sense.

My solution involved nuns.
