I’m trying to remember a song from around the late-'70s to early-'80s. It would have been something they played on a rock station such as L.A.'s KMET or KLOS. (I’m thinking more toward the KLOS end of the spectrum.) All I can remember is:
Takin’ it
[guitar going ‘Dah-da-dah’] Takin’ it
Not sure about the second ‘takin’ it’. Could have been something that rhymed.
I don’t remember it being so ‘Pop’. I remember heavier guitars.
But it’s been 35 years. We may well have been making fun of the song. And ‘Takin’ it’ might have been our play on ‘Makin’ It’. That is, instead of ‘makin’ the scene’, we were ‘takin’ it on the road’.
Long shot, but Paul McCartney’s “Take It Away” from his 1982 album Tug of War? There’s a part that goes “Take it away! (Duh-duh!) Take it away! (Duh-duh-uh-duuuh)” The Duh-duhs are guitar strums.
