Taking orders at fast food places

The book in question is The World is Flat. You must have good taste in books

Thank you. And according to me, I do. xo, C.

Do people really ask for things that specific, or was that just a silly example?

Eh? What’s all this then?

Yes they do. I worked at a Steak N Shake for a summer.

Additionally, during heavy times (lunch, bar closing time) you would basically throw 12 steakburgers down on the grill, cook them, scoop them off, and repeat for about a half hour. Usually they assigned another worker to deal with toasting the buns (making sure they were the right kinds) and dealing with the cheese and other stuff like that. The cook was busy with repetedly making the steakburgers. Also, if there was a spare, I would sometimes wear a drive-thru headphone set, so I could hear the orders as they were being said. Sometimes the extra 30 seconds between when the person made the order and the cashier finalized it (so it would show up on my screen) actually helped quite a bit.

No fries – cheeps!

Wow, you’ve not seen the classics of SNL? What about “basaball?”
