Not crying silly badger. Your attempt to shame me with mental health is wrong and I should not let my silence about that give credence to the idea that mental health is shameful. People on this board and elsewhere should discuss mental health. It should be normalized to do so.
How nice for you. And thanks for explaining how muting a thread works; I’m sure none of us had any idea. But from what I’m seeing, with multiple mods being terribly unfair to you and all the rest of us lying about you, you’re going to have a lot of muting to do. It must really suck being treated so unfairly by practically everyone.
I’m going to assume some % of people had no idea. We’ve been on Discourse over a year, I’ve read thousands of threads in that time and only muted one of them. So yes, the behavior was not as anticipated as no other forum software I use really has a feature like that. I would be surprised if a majority of posters know about it.
Well, some posters – say, for instance, this poster, the one you recently characterized as “a major impediment to good computing generally and a blight on the world of software” – managed to figure out most of the basic Discourse features (including the trivially obvious thread muting function) within a few days of the cutover. Others – say, for instance, certain dumbasses as apparently devoid of software competency as they are of basic civility – appear to have taken over a year to figure it out.
tl;dr: Never assume everyone else is as stupid as you are. And that also applies to maintaining and securing operating systems.
I mean if you want to compare “using a long abandoned by its creator Operating System that has known major vulnerabilities” to “never using a feature you never previously needed”, then sure. Or if you want to call someone stupid for “not knowing how features work they’ve never previously needed to use”, then sure, I guess I’m stupid. I don’t know how the voice control software on my TV works either, I do know that it has the feature, but I generally prefer to use the normal GUI so have never even turned the voice activation on. I am sure that every software you use, you fully explore every single feature immediately so you are never at risk of being called stupid for not knowing how a feature you may go years without needing works.
Let me cut to the chase–you’re a fucking idiot putz.
If you’re in a boxing ring, it’s reasonable to throw punches if someone’s throwing punches at you, but low blows are low blows. You could have thrown shit back at her without going there.
He pulls a knife, you pull a gun.
He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.
That’s the Chicago Martin_Hyde way!
I spit my beer on my keyboard. Nice one.
p.s. You owe me a computer mother fucker
Wait, isn’t this thread in the pit? checks Ah, yes it is. Was it moved?
You were out of line by the way. That post was a dumbass move.
Dude, Miller was defending you in that thread against all the people misrepresenting you. He is not the enemy. He only noted you once you went completely off the rails with your indefensible attack on Sunny Daze. What you should be doing here is thanking Miller for letting you off easy with just a Warning.
[Moderating]
Actually, no. There’s a difference between attacking someone for their opinions, and attacking someone for their health problems, especially when the health problem was brought up in an unrelated, non-Pit context.
This distinction will be reflected in moderation.
This isn’t a warning or a mod note, just clarifying what is and is not allowed in the Pit.
[/Moderating]
I see a lot of people have been trying to communicate with me in this forum (I guess Miller’s message showed as a notification because he’s a mod, but I have the entire pit muted now), as per this post I no longer participate in the Pit, just as an FYI to people who were trying to alert me in this thread.
