Stuart Little, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Santa Mouse, heck, I’ll even throw in Templeton from Charlotte’s Web.
I was thinking today about the prevelence of talking mice in children’s literature.
Animal Farm, Watership Down and Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH are examples of talking animals used to illustrate societies foibles.
I can’t remember a single “talking animal” book that I didn’t enjoy reading.
Are there any “bad” talking animal books?
