I chatted a bit with Christopher Moore, when I was a volunteer at a book festival where he spoke. I stood in a line of maybe 250 people with books for him to sign, and he signed every one. The book signing took longer than his talk, in fact. I was the very last person in line, and I told him I was impressed that he stayed until every fan had gotten their books signed. He smiled and said, “Well, it’s my job.” A very nice man, who seemed to relish interacting with his fans.
I usually become a babbling mess when talking to celebrities. Fortunately for me when I met Steve Jobs, another guy went into blithering idiot mode first. I got to share a chuckle with him about it.
