I used to be a very close friend of Tampa playwright Randy (Randall James) Johnson, of Pig’s Eye Productions. I haven’t seen or heard from him in years, and I heard a rumor he died – plausible, given his state of health when I knew him. Does anybody know details? When, where, how? Also, has anybody heard anything from one-time Pig’s Eye actress (and Randy’s one-time fiancee) Tei Gundolfi?

Last I could find on her was as a waitress/actress in 1994.

I can confirm that he died in Jan of 2002 and that the memorial was at Ricks on the River. I worked with Randy for some time at the Olive garden in Tampa and preformed in two of his plays in minor roles at The Loft and the theater in Carrolwood. I did much more work as a stage manger for him during those times. I had 3 different copies of his scripts but they were lost in a fire along with all the photos I had of my time with Pigs Eye Productions. Randy was a very talented guy and a good friend.
I used to supply the lighting for randy, I also shot video of quite a few of his shows. I maybe about the only person that still has those tapes, I gave several to randy and other cast members. When I get a chance I am going to convert to DVD for long term storage.
We did do some interesting shows, One of my favorites was “Closing Time in Paradise”(at a place in channelside), “A body of Art”(on 7th), Every Little Breeze seems to Whisper Louise"(on 7th), “A Xmas Carol”(at the loft), then several more on Kennedy(now Rose radiology)
