Tampa Florida - Where To Rent Camping Gear?

Howdy,

I’m going camping in Cayo Costa state park for one night in mid-March. Is there anywhere in the Tampa area where I can rent a tent and a couple of sleeping bags?

I live in Montana so I have camping gear. I’m could ship my gear but I hate to do that for one night.

Who did many Googles and just found people who wanted to rent me party tents.

I don’t know if they rent sleeping bags and they’re not quite in Tampa but there’s Bill Jackson’s.

That park is near Ft Myers. I’d check the Bill Jackson’s site linked, stop by Bill Jackson’s on your way south. That’s a long way to go for one night, though. What’s the deal?

The deal is to camp out under the stars, be outside wearing shorts, cook supper outside, watch the sunset, kayak in the ocean, swim . . .

All the things that are hard to do without long underwear in Montana in March.

I get that. Why just one day? Are you going to be here longer and only camping for one day? Ft Myers is a good 2 hours south from Tampa.

We slept with the windows open last night, the weather is really nice right now. Unfortunately I just found out I have to pop off to Germany for the next several weeks.
