I had checked earlier and didn’t see anything about reserving pavillions at their website. I’d be happy to volunteer to run down there with you at some point, or authorise a separate scouting party, to check with them. There’s a sushi place right at the turn off for Ft. DeSoto that’s supposed to be very good.
Darnit if I’m not moving back to Baton Rouge in about a week. I’d love to meet up, that is, if this thing ever gets off the ground. I’ll be back after the new year (when I will finally graduate!), so you guys feel free to put this off as long as you want. 
(of course, I will be back the weekend of the Paul McCartney concert Sept 17, so I’ll keep checking here for dates)

October 15th is the specific date, apologies to anyone who can’t make it. But 2 months should be enough time for everyone to schedule necessary time off, and/or divert any pending arrangements.

LoganDear, there’s another FloriDoper expat in Louisiana, KarlGrenze. She’s going to school somewhere out there, although I don’t know whether or not it’s Baton Rouge. Give us a shout when you’re back in town, I’m sure we can do something.
OK, just time for me to fess up. I’m a lazy ass, I don’t organize things. I don’t plan ahead, just live my life one day at a time.
My life is very boring so I can easily show up any time, any place. Oh, and my life is boring because I like it that way. I’m kinda boring in real life too, so don’t expect much outta me. I’m definitely one of the not so smart dopers. Last dope fest made me realize how dumb I am. Kinda sucked, but I can deal with it.
If we do food, I’m your cherry pie person. I will bring pie. Heck, I’ll even do apple for the non-cherry lovers.
OK, so far we have October 15th, Ft. DeSoto and pie, both cherry and apple. This is starting to shape up into a pretty bitchin’ Dopefest.
Going on the calendar now! Myself for sure, Bluesman subject to the needs of the Air Force, and whichever Blueskids I can convince to come.
I’m sure Oldest Blueskid will come. He seems at least minimally fond of me.
It was wonderful to meet you last night Lucretia. Your hubby too! You are awesome people and I’m glad I get to see you again in a week (hopefully).

Flander and I are hoping to plan a cruise for the weekend of October 15th, but if it doesn’t work out for some reason then we’ll be there. If we’re going on the cruise then we’ll know by the end of the week or so.

I’m fond of both beachs and sushi, and am also a highly trained leadership professional, therefore I think I could be a valuable addition to this scouting party.

I had something come up recently though so now there’s a really good chance I may not be up to attending.
I am working Sunday from 5-8, but Saturday I’m good to go to the beach if that’s the plan. Shibby has my cell number, so I’m leaving the plan up to him.

I usually work all weekend, but I can get off with sufficient notice. Saturday 10/15 is definitely sufficient notice.
