We can do it the long, drawn out way, and start organizing it now, and people get excited and then something comes up. Or we can do it more or less at the last minute with roughly the same effect. Up to you.
Do you know when you’ll be here, particularly which weekend days if any? That’ll at least give us something to shoot for. Can also check which Gasparilla stuff is going on then.

I’m working on it, folks, but for now I’m waiting on aabout a half-dozen colleagues to decide on when their meetings in January and February will be held. I’ll probably wind up missing some crucial meeting or other anyway, and vacation must come first and all that, but I’m unreasonably holding out hope that we can get this wrapped up in a day or two.
Not to hijack, but the exhibit at MOSI is NOT morbid in the least. It is so well done that you quickly forget you are looking at dead folks and just focus on whatever is being shown at a particular spot.
It is a great exhibit. Not once did I think it was in anyway creepy or morbid. A great learning experience for both young and old alike. My 10 year-old son enjoyed it.
Well, while the Thursday after Christmas is my birthday, Friday’s show is Sawgrass Flats, which is one of my favorite regular Skipper’s bands. I vote for Friday!
The “country” part frightens me a bit, but the Skippers synopsis sounds okay, so I can get with that. Let me check with K on how that fits with her schedule.

Where we meeting and what time?
Well, do we want to do just the show or dinner, too? If dinner I would think around 6 or so, if the show, say 7-7:30. I think meeting at Skipper’s itself makes the most sense, though if someone else wants to go and needs a ride/someone to follow, we could work that out, too.
Any chance that your youngest could watch the Shibblets? If so Mrs. Shibb will come along. Is Bluesman coming?
I’d like me some fried food before my music, but can go either way on that. However it works out maybe we can carpool out.
Myakka River State Park outside of Sarasota is a nice place to walk and canoe (you can rent them there) around. There’s a natural palm forest, eagles, lots of other birds, gators, and fewer bugs than in summer.
Alrighhhht, I’m back in town now!! But darnit, I’m headed for the Leon Russell concert at Tampa Theatre tomorrow night. In fact I’m pretty booked up the next couple of weekends… next weekend I’m going to the circus, then the next weekend is the Billy Joel concert. Say, anyone else going to that?
I’m also dying to see the MOSI exhibit (Ooh, a pun!). Gasparilla is ALWAYS a party in our family - so if anyone is going to the day parade, we oughta meet up. Pseudotriton, you’re lucky if you’re coming in January because you’re likely to catch the festivities. (three "you’re"s in one sentence, my head is going to explode!)

Arriving in Tampa International the morning of February 12 (a Sunday) and leaving the morning of the 23rd.
If you folks aren’t bored with each other yet, and would like to hang out with me (or with each other, and the hell with me) for a few hours in there anytime between the 12th and 23rd, I’m up for hanging.
If you’re inclined and if you care to brave the traffic on I-4 drive on up to Orlando. It’s not all that far and would be a fun trip for a day or so.
