Tapatalk issues

I’m on an Android Note 8.
When I post into a thread, I cannot find any options or menus that allow me to subscribe / get notifies.

Help ?!
Many thanks,

( and yes, I will have to come back in here on my own to check for replies…because of this very issue. )

Can you try it without Tapatalk? The tech people assure me the message board functionality works without it.

At least for me, when I post in a thread, I am automatically subscribed to that thread. I can subsequently unsubscribe, but the initial subscription is automatic when I post there.

You can change your options in User CP under Edit Options; Messaging & Notification .

TubaDiva, I can post right to the SDMB on my phone. Incredibly hard to see the pages- they don’t scale up well on my phone.

I’ll check the User settings again!

This is how it is for me, too, but the only issue is that I don’t get automatically sent daily emails for any of those threads (like I’m supposed to via the CP) unless I manually subscribe to the thread on the actual website. I’m subscribed via Tapatalk, but it doesn’t add my default notification.

Have you tried using the Sultantheme skin (in a browser) instead of the regular Straight Dope skin? Much easier to read the site on a phone that way. As soon as that skin was available, I dropped Tapatalk like a hot potato.

Has the spoilers not being hidden issue in Sultantheme been resolved yet?

By the way, what’s the advantage of using tapatalk?

I just checked it. Evidnetly, it has been fixed.

I don’t love everything about that skin (it always formats links as their own line for one thing) but it makes this board usable on a mobile device. With the regular skin I have to pinch-and-zoom on every page to make text readable.

My understanding is that Sultantheme was designed for mobile platforms. Which is why management is always so confused when I try to talk to them about Tapatalk. "But we HAVE mobile functionality … "

Use what works best for you. I can’t hardly see anything on a phone screen to begin with and so reading the site from my phone does not work well at all. So I’m not much help from the phone side, sorry to say.
