Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood"

A “red band trailer” is one where R-rated stuff is allowed. They were supposed to be shown only in theaters already playing an R-rated film. Due to having to keep everything straight they weren’t often made and even less often played. Easier to run the regular one.

But thanks to the Internet, red band trailers are more common and easier to watch. Not all (if any) red band trailers online today start with the standard red bands the MPAA imposed on such trailers.

I searched YouTube for “red band trailer” and got a lot of hits. The ones I checked didn’t seem to have the red bands at all. And some require the age 18 login thing.

No one can top Steve Railsback.

I thought the exact same thing.

Given Tarantino’s love of martial arts movies, the Bruce Lee scenes could be pretty cool.

And the big winners at Cannes have been announced. And OUaTiH has won the most cherished prize of the all: The Palm Dog Award. That is not a typo.

The dog’s name is “Brandy”, btw.

It’s a “prize” for best canine in a film.

This is Tarintino’s second Palm Dog. The first was for the black poodle in Inglourious Basterds. But that was a 3-way prize shared with the dog from Up and a fox (gasp!).

Bought my tickets today: 4pm, Thursday, 35mm at the Alamo Drafthouse.

I saw my first Tarantino movie in 1994 (PF, of course.) This one is special for me because I’m taking my near 18yo daughter… who obviously didn’t exist in 1994… with me. It will be the first time we’ve seen a QT movie together in the theater, and on opening day as well.
