Tax deductability of labor?

Yeah, I understand you’re not a lawyer, lestwise not my lawyer (or accountant, preparer, et al ad infinitum)…

I’m considering donating a web site to a local church. I’d pay the domain registration and server space, and I know how to deduct these. But I’d be doing 100% of the site development and back end development and literally everything. So the cash outlays I imagine I could just deduct like normal. But…

How about the labor? I’m not a website designer, host, or anything at all professionally related to the field (I just happen to know what I’m doing). So say I spend 100 hours doing everything – do I just see what local web developers charge per hour and use that? Or do I take my own, normal salary÷2080? Or salary÷2080*1.5? Or is there some secret (well, public) formula used by the IRS for this type of “donation”? Of course my IRS reference means I’m in the United States.

Yeah, I’ll make sure to get with all of the right professionals if I decide to follow through with this; but I’m looking for generalities so I can decide whether I’d want to follow through with this or not.

THANKS!

The value of your time & labor is never deductable.

So the answer is- 0 .

Sorry
