Not on movies, they’re showing more classic movies (and even some more recent movies) than ever, for which I am grateful on a daily basis (since watching overprivileged skanks spending money like water, and fat people dancing and dating seem to be THE programs that we’re supposed to be watching.) No, I’m loving the annual Summer of Stars. but what I’m missing is the TCM promotional bits they showed in the past. Is that the correct term? I’m thinking of, at the beginning of the month, they would show an artsy black and white montage, backed by angsty music and an angsty artsy tattooed lady, almost like an old fashioned music video, of upcoming movies during that month. Or a short artsy video with a sonorous voice reading a poem. Or even the cheezy silly ‘summer movies’ thing from last year showing retro stars doing summer stuff, with pastel ice cream cones and such alongside. They’re still showing ‘coming attractions’ and short interviews and people telling anecdotes about the good old days, but those little extra pieces are missing. Why? Were they expensive?
