TCM's memorial montages; that was quick!

They’re already running Debbie Reynolds’ “actors who died this year” montage. They must have death dossiers on older actors

I haven’t seen the Dead Parade, since there haven’t been any movies on TCM we wanted to watch. How long does it run? I’m guessing it’s a long one this year, with more than 130 celebrities on the list.

I would think they do the same for most show business people as the newspapers and television news production companies and keep that stuff in a file somewhere and add to it over time. Then it’s ready at the time needed.

I like the song on it. Something about going home.

They had to redo it for Zsa Zsa. I haven’t seen the Debbie Reynolds version.

No Tom Neyman though.

They do. I once worked at a radio station that had several hundred obituaries on tape ready to roll as soon as the death bulletin came over the wire.

Producers can work very fast. I was once amazed, when South Park mentioned Susan Boyle in an episode that aired nine days after she appeared on he talent show. Susan Boyle and South Park were a match made in heaven.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone produce South Park episodes in under a week, from coming up with a story idea to the voice recording, final animation, and post production. They like to keep episodes fresh and topical.

I’ll bet the folks over at TCM have a Celebrity Death Pool that makes ours look like amateur hour.
