Teacher Orders Kid to Lose Romney Shirt

Well, we’d unequivocally know who was on the list and who wasn’t. That answer is still way better than a bible verse. You have my sympathies for your problems with persons thinking the worst of your motivations.
(And if it wasn’t obvious, my original response was half tongue in cheek. I don’t really think you’re keeping a list, even though that would make the real world a little more strange and wonderful. But I have no damn idea what that bible verse means. Historically, third hand translations of ancient poetry seem to be open to interpretation.)

Liberal, union, socialist, it’s a trifecta! <applause>

Meh. The teacher is a biased idiot. She should learn a thing or two about the reasonable expression of free speech and the freedom to support any candidate you want to - even if it’s the wrong one
Schools and their teachers like to pay LIP SERVICE to rights and free speech but apparently they only support their OWN??? It seems to happens too often.

I am not sure what political persuasion could be used to describe my leanings, but as a scientist and a rationalist, I feel completely comfortable saying that this is 1) a tempest in a teapot and 2) the teacher made a really dumb mistake. I’d be saying that regardless of which party’s political statement was denigrated by the teacher. But, as has been said earlier (most hilariously by Vinyl Turnip) many of us have been talked down to by teachers for no good reason. Teaching is a hard career, especially today and while I am not trying to excuse this teacher’s actions, pillorying her for this seems a little excessive to me. But, I was bullied by teachers as a student, so perhaps I have a different perspective than most.
