Team America World Police

Who comes off worse in Team America World Police Liberals or Conservatives?

Americans. That’s the whole point of the movie.

America’s presumed fetish for war and always being number 1 and always winning

Amer-i-ca! FUCK YEAH!

ETA: Honestly you should have had a poll choice be Matt Damon

Clearly the answer is Pussies, Dicks, and Assholes.

Sean Penn definitely comes off the worst, because self-parody is embarrassing. It’s especially bad because his rebuttal contains the exact attitude that they parodied.

Within film, Kim Jong-Il is the worst person. And any other Assholes. It’s from the Dick POV, but both them and Pussies are negative, but not as bad as Assholes.

Meanwhile [del]Alec Baldwin[/del] Arec Bardwin was arguably the most parodied in the film, and he was fine with it.

What? No category for film actors? Seriously no-one gets off easy from this film. Matt and Troy are equal opportunity offenders. It actually mocks my own political belief’s but I can’t make myself get offended because it is just so much fun.

America! Fuck Yeah!

The cast of Cats.

I don’t know, but I always keep a hammer on me in the event I’m captured and have to kill myself.

If you forget the hammer but still need to use it, can you let me know beforehand? Because I’ve seen a lot of things, but seeing a man eat his own head is still on my list.

Been a long time since I saw it, but I seem to recall it was pretty even handed in portraying liberals as obliviously self-righteous and conservatives as simplistic war-mongers. If both sides think a movie or other piece of entertainment portrays their side unfairly but the other side accurately, that’s a pretty good sign the satire is well deserved all around.

Also, the sad version of “America Fuck Yeah” is brilliant.

Aliens?

yeah, this. I own guns and ride a Harley, and I still laugh when they poke fun at me.

I would say the answer is “Yes”. They lampooned both sides pretty well and amusingly, too.

Funny thing is, the dividing point in the film where it goes from mocking obliviously violent right-wingers to mocking self-righteous left-wingers is the scene of the bombing of the Panama Canal, which stands out as being a very somber and serious moment, quite at odds with the rest of the film.

Also, what was the deal with Spottswoode’s driver, Baxter? Baxter’s design looked closer to that of the female puppet characters, despite the beard and mustache. I was expecting some kind of big twist, but Baxter disappeared during the cocktail party scene and was not seen or referenced again.

Definitely the French.

Matt. Damon.

I think the OP’s premise is flawed. It’s just absurd, over the top, fun. I guess North Korea and Kim Jong Il come off the worst. . . .

It’s been quite a while since I saw the movie, but I recall thinking liberals/the left came off a bit worse than conservatives/the right. (I say that as a liberal who enjoyed the movie.)

From what I remember, the right were portrayed as frequently clueless, but nonetheless fundamentally well-meaning. By contrast, ISTR several of the Hollywood left types actively and violently collaborating with Kim Jong-Il. If the Hollyweird types had just been portrayed as totally oblivious dupes–and then been shocked, shocked that Kim Jong-Il was in reality a violent, repressive, megalomanic, totalitarian asshole–and even if the clueless left-wingers had then been gruesomely killed–I think it would have been more “even-handed” than to actually show Hollywood liberals blazing away at the “good guys” with machine guns and such.

Mind you, Parker and Stone are under no obligation to be “even-handed”, and if they dislike the “pussies” more than they do the “dicks”, or just thought it was funnier to come down a little bit harder on the left than on the right, hey, it’s their movie.

America! Fuck yeah!

Michael Bay? Fuck yeah!

I thought that one puppet looked more like Willem Defoe than Matt Damon.

For what it’s worth, in the theme song, Democrats get an enthusiastic “Fuck Yeah!” while Republicans gets a confused one.
