Tech support recording help

I hope someone on this board knows where to find this.

I heard on the radio while on holidays last week (in Edmonton if that matters) a voice mail some freak left to a company that worked on his laptop computer. He TOTALLY LOST IT that his hard drive was whiped clean. And I mean, LOST IT. If you heard this recording, I am sure you would know which one I am talking about. Does someone know where I can find this thing on the net?

Thanks

Eric

I used to get a few chuckles from a page called http://www.helpdeskfunnies.com , but I’m not sure if it’s still in operation. I can’t check from here, because the page is blocked by our firewall. Anyway, they might have the recording.

Even if they don’t, you’ll like the ones they do have. I particularly enjoyed the paper clip call.

I have the file. I got it in an email. If you send me your email address, I’ll send it to you. I don’t have a convenient place at the moment to post it on a web page.

Thanks very much!

Eric

I’ve heard that recording a few times, it’s pretty funny, although honestly I empathize with the poor guy – Stephen Thrasher, I think his name was.

Anyway, does anyone know whatever happened to him?
Most importantly, did he ever get his data back?

I tried some searches on this board (and off) for thrasher, and helpdesk and stephen (and steven), but couldn’t find anything.

I have the file. It has been around forever and it is pretty much agreed that is is not real but pretty good acting.

A google search reveals

http://wincent.org/files/helpdesk.mp3

file is here

Just got it. I thought it was real. If it wasn’t, I will agree with you it was pretty good acting

Eric

The name Thrasher should tell you something
