Technical: Splashtop, multi monitors, recurrent Thunderbolt shutdown on MBPro

Just an iPhone for people who don’t talk much.

Sarcasm detection not your strength

Reverse sarcasm fail, lol. Hard online.

I am partial to Synergy ( Synergy - Share one mouse & keyboard across computers ) which is more like a KVM switch, in that you share a single mouse and keyboard (and some copy/paste abilities) but the main reason I like it is that it is cross platform, which is not needed in this case.

Still, I strongly recommend it. It has support for multiple monitors.

I wish Timbuktu was still being supported. Nothing else has anywhere near the backwards compatibility reach.

I can remotely control an LC II running System 7 or a PC with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 from a Windows 10 or Mojave box.

But it’s 32 bit. No way to use it for bossing around a Sonoma box.

Turned out to be a bad BATTERY. Had swelled up to the point of splitting the case 1/2 inch gap. And I hadn’t noticed until I took it to Georgia to visit my ancestral family.

Not GPU. Not Thunderbolt / USB bus. Just a freaking battery.

Whoa, thanks for the update. I would never have guessed. So like, it swelled up so much that it caused some wires or circuits to detach, or…?

No, just that somehow even when it’s running off AC, it pulls the electricity it actually uses from moment to moment from the battery. And with the battery not doing so well, it kept behaving as if it was being overloaded.

Heh! They’ve got what looks like my exact model photo’d on that Reddit thread:
