Ted Cruz Presidential campaign discussion thread

I refuse to believe that even one biological entity in The Galaxy would do it with Pugsley. There again, there may be an organism on exoplanet Alpha Centauri Bc, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Definitely. I too love Trump’s transparent “that’s just what I have heard” routine. He actually said “All I know is what I read on the Internet”. Were truer words ever spoken?

Huh. My political feed is full of great data, presented in a quickly absorbable format, with no filler. Like this: x.com

Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg, who was fired from the Trump campaign for. among other things, throwing around the N word and calling Obama a “Socialist Marxist Islamo Fascist Nazi Appeaser” (which he was shocked, SHOCKED! that he said), has endorsed Cruz because Trump hasn’t repudiated the KKK. Um, where do racists draw the line?

Wherever they want to… but rarely persuasively.

Cruz jokes about running over Trump.
ABC

Everyone knows Cruz has no sense of humor.

You do realize that in THIS campaign year, if he did run over Trump, it would help his poll numbers and favorability ratings.

Man, who the hell ever thought this was a good idea? First of all, he willingly associates himself with two of the most unsavory characters on The Simpsons. But the worst sin is that he mangles all of his quotes in a way that completely removes the joke. I don’t get it, how hard is it not to mangle a quote on a pre-recorded video?

I can see Ted as Kang.

Some might see that as self-deprecating humor.

The Mr. Burns and Ned Flanders lines weren’t trying to cite jokes, just him portraying lines from them. The bit with Lisa and Homer seems to be a complete joke segment to me. The Kang segment is kinda weird, but is juxtaposing common politician remarks about looking toward the future, and in that sense works well enough.

Scott Walker endorses Ted Cruz.

I’d take a dead Nixon over a live Trump OR Cruz.

Security adviser to the Cruz campaign says there are no-go zones in Minneapolis where Sharia law prevails and the police are afraid to go.

Perfectly true if you substitute “Lutheran” for “Sharia.”

If you’re raped, you’re fucked.

How he hell did we get to the place as a country that these people can say things like this and not be laughed off the stage forever?

Because a sizeable segment of the population agrees with them.

It’s a very logical position if you accept the central premise that fetus = living human being with the rights of an individual. I do not accept this premise, being vehemently pro-choice, but it makes more sense to me than the standard no-abortion-except-for-rape/incest position, which is logically inconsistent.

I wasn’t real clear but I was referring to both Rick kitchen’s post ref sharia in St. Paul MN and running coach’s post about rape.

Your points ref fetuses are well-taken. Scary, but accurate. But that just moves the question to how such medieval thinking could exist in the populace at large at this late date.

+1

It’s hard to take issue with the word like “sizable” since one can justify the term in many ways, however last I checked, a complete ban on all abortions including rape, incest and life of the pregnant person was a minority even among the pro-life movement.
