Nitpick time here. He’d never have gotten that past security at Heathrow with the 100ml rule.
Also, they were flying an old config BA business class at the end (I think only one with these seats), which sit forward and back, but the flight attendtants wore some sort of weird Etihad like uniform.
Ok, so reality based, but still. I suppose it at least is correct business class, most dramatic business/first class flights are shown as the two by two, big seats, which is US domestic business class (this was the one shown when Danny and Van Damme were on the same plane). European short haul tends to be economy seats with the middle one blocked. Sometimes very rich people seem to be flying the old 3-4-3 seated economy in dramas. Usually, I think, due to only being a few plane sets in places.
The one in the last episode of Ted Lasso was a real plane though. Or rather, at least one of BA’s models/training setups.
If you remember, in the second season, Sam protested the sponsor, Dubai Air, because it was owned by an oil company that was damaging the environment in Nigeria. In the first episode, the airline that Ted and Beard took to London was Dubai Air.
So I think that’s what’s supposed to be the airline in the finale.
Apple TV+ announced that they renewed the show for a fourth season. Jason Sudeikis is returning, though no confirmation if any of the other cast will be as well.
Can a fourth season be anything but disappointing? They wrapped the story up nicely. Are the people who worked on that show really that hard up for the work?
Other articles say that options were picked up for Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift, so they are likely to return as well, and that the premiere is set in Kansas.
I was thinking one possible avenue for a new season would be if Ted Lasso was managing a Kansas City MLS team and AFC Richmond travels there for a friendly match.
Sudeikis guested on the New Heights podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers, which is where this was announced and confirmed. He talked about the premise — Ted is coaching a women’s team. Considering the plot developments at the very end of the third season, it’s very likely the team Rebecca and Keeley bought into.
I assume that Rebecca and Keeley set up a women’s team affiliated with Richmond A.F.C. and it would be based and compete in Richmond. So if Ted is coaching that team, he would have to be back in the UK and I doubt he’s going to leave his son behind again. I think it’s more likely that he’s coaching a US-based women’s team, perhaps even the United States women’s national soccer team. Perhaps Rebecca’s women’s team travels to Kansas for a match against his team?
I know it’s totally coincidental, but I like the interplay of how Apple officially says Severance has beaten out Ted Lasso to become the most popular show ever on Apple TV+, and then a few weeks later, Ted Lasso announces it’s coming back for a new season.
It would be funny if they created a kitschy suburban fairyland in Kansas the same way they did for greater London. The locals could all wear upscale over-alls and blue and white gingham dresses.
