Jill Bolte Taylor’s A Stroke of Insight
A neuroanatomist describing the changes her brain went through during a stroke.
Amateur Barbarian, this is known as threadshitting, and it’s a classic example of it. If you don’t like or are interested in the subject matter (especially if the title of the topic automatically assumes the poster will be…I.E.: What is your favorite x?) then just don’t bother to reply.
Now that’s a turn in the meta direction!
(For those who do not know, IT drinks nothing but bottled water)
On topic: I recently rewatched a TED talk Steve Wozniak did on “the early days”. What a shame he died so young.
Raventhief, I was out of line to dump on your interest. Posting the link to the parody says enough about what I think of this subject; piling on was indeed threadshitting and as a long-time user that’s something I do my best to avoid. Apologies.
Are there any TED talks about TED talks?
Maybe he’ll do a TED talk about how it felt.
I’ve been whooshed. Does he talk about dying in it or something?
No. He was just such an amazing guy. I wish he lived to be 118.
ETA: I meant Steve Jobs:smack::smack::smack:
best talks are troll talks: ‘Thought Leader’ gives talk that will inspire your thoughts | CBC Radio (Comedy/Satire Skit) - YouTube, Reggie Watts disorients you in the most entertaining way - YouTube
Much better than the usual TED bollocks.
I have to hand it to Reggie Watts, that is hands down the best English accent impersonation that I’ve ever heard an American do.
The talks by Adrianne Haslet (Boston Marathon bombing survivor).
