I got senioritis in grade school. Somehow, this didn’t prevent me from graduating from both grade school and high school. But then I’m one of those people who can write a paper hours before it’s due and get as high a mark on it as anyone else in the class got, so mebbe I’m just one of them freaks.
Lynne_kilii, just FTR I’m not a teenager anymore. And JimSox, best guess is that the filter catches “dope” in the URL. Send me an email and I’ll give you some advice on how to cope with this terrible, terrible loss;)
I hope y’all won’t mind me being an old codger too much…
Read. Read more than you post. Generally for every post I make, I’ve read the entirety of at least four threads. Read when you are totally ignorant of the topic (but don’t post unless you have a question;)) and read when you think you know a lot about the topic. Read debates, read pit threads, read GQ especially.
The amount of knowledge you can pick up that will help you at some random point inthe future is hideously large.
Additionally, read the collected works of Cecil. Buy the books if you can and pore over them. Some of the stuff therein is not stuff that will come up often, but you’d be surprised how many people think I’m smart because I know that there are not 3 -gry words (angry, hungry, gry, aggry, puggry) but 5. And I know what the actual answer to the riddle is (language). It’s a fountain of knowledge at this place, and it’s free. Drink as much as you can and try not to pee in it too much:)
Read. Open your minds. Ask questions. Before long you may find yourself answering them as well. The number of parents on here who want advice on their young (and sometimes not-so-young) kids is rather large, and your perspective on many things facing your demographic can be rather important.
Plus it’s fun to point and laugh at all the old people:D
Children. CHILDREN! Stop all this running in the halls. Also, what’s with the incessant bouncing on the beds? You’ve been told time and again that’s bad for the springs.
oh, quite sorry. I even thought aboot it, and forgot to say, and recent teens. Cause I still thought you were like 25+. Meh. In a good way. wanders off
17, 18 in August.
I’m graduating this Friday, and if they don’t decide to cancel my acceptance, going to Penn State (Univ. Park).
I’m senioritis on two legs (my class got several senioritis speeches from the principle, mostly because of me), but thankfully all my work as high schooler is done now. I have prom this Saturday, and I’m planning to drink until I can’t walk or see (is that teenagerish enough for you?).
I guess you should count my daughter, Auroradrum. Although, I’m not sure she’s ever made her first post (she only just registered this month). She just turned 18.
BTW - congrats to all y’all high school seniors !!
Name: Amy
Age: 17, I’ll be a senior next year, thank God.
I’m really suprised at how young some of the people on this board are. A lot of the people who have posted on this thread so far have led me to believe that they are older than they really are. I guess I just tend to think that everyone is more mature than I am, which is probably true for the most part.
ME? WISE? snort… well, thats the first time I’ve ever been called that… Heh. Thanks. Made my day.
I always thought that Mirror Image egamI rorriM was over the legal drinking age. And same thing goes for Loneraven,DreadCthulhu, and Blalron. I know iampunha in person, and he always seemed a “grownup” to me.
