I haven’t seen a Che shirt since the grunge era and I’ve never seen a hammer and sickle on anything fashion related.
They are having fun making Boomers mad. Making Boomers mad has been a fun pastime for awhile.
There are a lot of people for whom doing things that anger others is fun. This is more common in teens, before their brains fully form. That is why 4chan skews so young. And it is also how fascists recruit these days, using the fact that joining them will make others angry.
Also, this deserves acknowledgement.
Maybe they are part of the 46.4% of Americans who voted for Trump, he has a lot of support…
Pretty sure the OP mentioned that they appeared to be too young to vote this year, let alone in 2016.
Huh - must be locally-driven. I saw…maybe five Che shirts last week (three on two different college campuses, two more on random folks downtown). Also saw at least three shirts/bags with hammer-and-sickle motifs - though to be fair two were in the San Francisco Bay area (including a People’s Republic of Berkeley shirt from the 90s!) and one was a very odd anarchy logo that included the hammer/sickle motif…and, no, I have no idea how to interpret that symbology…
This is the answer right here.
Che was a mass murderer, Trump is merely an idiot. Which is worse?
Parents. Either because the hat was given by the parent or because the hat pisses the parent off.
On this board the answer is overwhelmingly obvious.
Yep, Che was responsible for the deaths of hundreds. And one can call him a mass murderer, and this is while the context tell us that the USA was intervening in Latin America and thousands were dying at the hands of the regimes the USA was supporting.
More recently, I concluded that what Che did was the wrong thing to do. But this happened in my view after seeing the USA finally learning that sending troops or listening to the elites in Latin America demanding American military intervention if the people voted the “wrong” way, was not the proper thing to do.
But ask me later if Trump decides to invade Venezuela after finding Iran a tough nut to crack. IMHO what the powerful will do in the near future will tell current or future generations if Che had point.
Che Guevara is not the head of a political party that is currently in control over their country. I’m pretty sure he’s not going to make a comeback anytime soon.
Hmmm… which one is alive and dangerous now… yeah, the answer is pretty obvious…
I dunno; he is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice.
That famous Beatles /Sex Pistols mashup, Anarchy in the USSR
#1 son and girlfriend just got back from a vacation in Alabama. Apparently, couples wearing matching rebel flag bathing suits/bikinis is a thing down there.
Making them mad how? By disrespectfully wearing the hats backwards?
You don’t actually know what a “Boomer” is, do you?
With this logic, wearing a Hitler T-shirt is better than a MAGA hat.
The baby boom in the U.S. was roughly 1946-1964, meaning that the boomers are now 54 to 73 years old. Isn’t that pretty much the prime demographic for them to be Trump supporters?
Yes. The white ones, anyway.
Hitler youth famously wore Kaiser Wilhelm II wife-beaters.
